I haven't been here in a few months but in my experience the problems seem to be the triage. The privacy is a zero and scattered. They have someone near the security taking your personal info and then you wait to be triaged. Then you are behind a curtain where there are 3 different people taking your info and then they have you wait some more and in a couple of my visits once they call you to the back they have you wait again in a cold and uncomfortable room with hard chairs. With all of the negative reviews, I hope that they start to take into consideration that this is a hospital and not a jail. People are coming in with discomfort and pain.
New triage and seating would be nice. Aside from that the nurse and doctors are great.

It was horrible. I’m severely sick. I have a bad kidney infection with a bacteria infection.. They didn’t even check my kidneys and I’m in severe pain, crying pain.. last year. I went through the same thing and they found a mass on one of my kidneys. I let them know in triage that they had to biopsy it last year.. They didn’t even send me a for a scan.. I know my urine results came back really bad and I also have a really bad bacterial infection. I was just given Bactrim from the ER waiting room and pushed out the door, didn’t even get a room!. I left it the same thing that I went with, Im diabetic also.. Just overall horrible experience to not be taken seriously.. The infection I have, I looked it up. There’s like a 40% mortality rate. I told her I showed her the culture results that my doctor did on Friday so the triage doctor knew. They didn’t even check to see how dehydrated I was. I know I need IV fluids. I still need IV fluids right now. I’m still in pain. Nothings changed the medicines not helping. I’m pretty sure it’s resistant to my bacteria. Infection because when I looked it up on the list of the ones that will work. Just horrible I’m sad

Adventist Health and Rideout: Emergency Room:
This hospital is, without a doubt, the worst experience I've ever had. From the moment my wife and I stepped into the emergency room, we felt forgotten and ignored. We will never return to this facility.
First off, the waiting room is uncomfortably small and cramped, with hardly any seating available. To make things worse, there is zero phone service, which only adds to the sense of isolation. I was taken aback by the unprofessionalism of the nursing staff. They called us back from behind curtains without showing their faces, which left us confused about where to go.
Adding to our discomfort was the influx of individuals who looked like they were struggling with addiction. It was unsettling, and the lax security made us feel even more unsafe.
Our experience with the medical staff was frustrating, to say the least. They performed an EKG on my wife right away. Luckily, the results were normal, but when they checked her blood pressure, it revealed an elevated heart rate. We explained that her anxiety—rampant in an emergency room filled with sick people—was likely the cause. Despite this, the nurses insisted on performing unnecessary tests, like a chest X ray, which we refused due to the potential harm to our unborn child.
After having blood work done, we were sent back to the waiting room, where the nightmare truly began. We sat in that cramped area for two painful hours with absolutely no word from anyone. Finally, we heard a voice from behind the curtains telling us we could be seen by a nurse for a temperature check that was completely redundant. The delay continued as we were told they were waiting for one vial of blood to be processed.
Then came the longest wait of our lives — five hours in total! People who came in after us were being seen and discharged while we just sat there, with three individuals next to us talking to themselves. I finally lost patience and went behind the curtains seeking answers. The nurse bluntly informed me that the results had been back for a while, and we were still waiting on a provider to discuss them. I was infuriated by the lack of urgency. We asked to be released if there were no issues, but she explained that patients with more severe conditions take priority.
The system here is broken and disgusting. A provider who was with us had left for the day, and it felt like our case had simply been forgotten. After demanding to see someone, we finally got a doctor who, thankfully, was professional and addressed our concerns. He confirmed that the blood work was good and conducted an ultrasound to check on the baby. But after over seven hours of waiting for basic results, I can't fathom how this hospital can justify its service.
Please, for the love of your loved ones, find another place to go. Adventist Health and Rideout clearly does not care about patient care. Fix your broken system!

Overall the ER visit was much more organized than previously. I would have given 5 stars except for the attending physician ignoring me to ask my daughter about me. I am able to answer my own medical questions. It is insulting to treated as if my words don’t matter simply because I am in my 70’s.

I was there for my toddler to be seen late at night. We were in amd out quickly and the staff was kind, professional, personable and helpful... however the abundance of security and flow of homeless people in and out made us feel rather unsafe and uncomfortable. Couldn't wait to leave.

This morning at 3 AM my sister stated having very bad abdominal pain due to kidney stones. The pain was literally unbearable and she was screaming and crying. This ER is just 5-6 minutes from my house, so instead of calling ambulance, I took her in my own car quickly to the ER but to my disappointment they wasted almost 3 hrs until 6 am in doing registration, check in, blood checkup, urine check etc. while she kept screaming and crying with pain in the waiting room. They were short on staff, the dental doctor attended her at first. Then They gave her first painkiller around 6am and when the pain was still not going away they gave 3-4 more tablets and finally around 7-8, her pain decreased a bit. I thought it was Emergency Room and treatment would be instant but I was wrong. Badly disappointed.

I recently had to go to the ER at Adventist-Rideout Hospital. From the ambulance to the hospital staff, I received the best care. Everyone really listened to me as I explained my symptoms. They hydrated me when I asked, they explained every detail of care and treatment, they made me comfortable, they were understanding and respectful, I didn't have to wait long. I can't thank everyone enough for their care and service.
