I have had a visit due to bleeding during my pregnancy. We waited about 5 hours, they didn’t measured the baby during ultrasound. I was billed incorrectly in one of the bills. The bill from Emergency Care LLC as “medical care” even this was due to my pregnancy and should be coded as “maternity care”. They said this is because pregnancy was the second line in the diagnosis. After about 6 month of reviewing coding they still billed me for medical care…
This was my first and last visit to Olathe Medical Center ER. Avoid!

My daughter had severe abdominal pain was in tears we got to the ER at 10 it's now 1230 and we are still waiting . Our doctor even called ahead of time together them know we were coming . So far they've taken back grown up with flu symptoms over a 7yr old with abdominal pain. Whoever is doing triage needs to be re-educated.

The receptionist and first nurse kept this from being a one. I went to the ER for nerve pain in my back and leg. I told them up front I’ve had two babies and I was in more pain yesterday than I was when I was in labor. The front desk staff member as well as triage were wonderful- they were efficient and kind. The first nurse I had (don’t remember her name but she wore glasses, short curly hair, and a tattoo on her right arm) was also attentive and kind. Then came shift change———-I had a scan. The doctor came in to share the results. He was with me maybe five minutes and his eyes were on the football game my husband was watching more than they were on me. He walked out of the room in the middle of me asking a question about meds. When I was discharged, I asked the nurse if I should be concerned I was being discharged in the same amount of pain I checked in with. It took her a long time to come up with an answer, but I got “your particular issue is tough to treat.” Even though it’s the closest hospital to my house, I will drive much farther should I ever have to use another ER.

Ive been to Olathe Medical Center three times in the last year. Each time I was treated kindly and professionally. There is the usual and expected long wait in the waiting room. However once you get to a bed, the Dr. sees you almost immediately. The ER runs efficiently and I was incredibly pleased with my care.

I see why they have 2 stars. See, unfortunately I had no choice but to go to this ER yesterday since I’m on a fixed income and had to Uber there. So, I was pretty sick and did my best to sit in that long for 2 hrs. Once I started getting treated, CT came and got me before I even had meds and fluids. So that trip was bad. They had ran labs and urine too. Lab work had a few abnormal things. Thanks that I’ve never been abnormal with. I asked the Dr if she got my labs back and she said that she hadn’t seen them yet. She discharged me without coming back to update me. I’m still sick and in pain. Medical field has gone down hill. Like I’m being forced to live like I’m dying or go to a hospital/Dr office to be looked at like a fool and judged. I’ll take dying for 500…. #DOBETER

Don’t come to this place! If you have an actual emergency, don’t come here. Go to Overland or somewhere else. I took my son because he was really sick. He was vomiting and he was just really sick. Anyways, the point is, they’re very racist. And I’m not a white lady. I just saw the way they would treat other people and the way they would treat me. My son is a little bit light skin so he was treated OK but the way they talk to me is so racist. The point is never come here if you have an emergency.

I brought my pregnant girlfriend and Waited in here for about 2-3 hours at 8am.. was the first one here and still didn’t get seen. If you have an emergency please don’t go here you will most likely die before they get to you. And I still continue to wait as we speak…..

Me experience last night was absolutely awful. I broke my neck a couple months ago and came back last night because I have numbness, tingling and coldness in my left arm with pain radiating from my neck. They could tell an obvious different in my radial pulse, my strength as well as my sensation of touch. They told me I need an MRI ASAP but would not give me one because I’m not considered an “emergency”. I am a spinal patient with numbness in my limbs and that’s not an emergency? They gave me a LOT of pain medicine and a muscle relaxer and rushed me out. I am not today in the same pain, but don’t want to go back to just be drugged up again and not have my issue actually address.
