I won't go anywhere else than this ER. I have never waited more than 5 minutes to get called back. Nurses are kind and get right to assessing you & gathering information. I appreciate the staff keeps me updated on results, etc. instead of just telling it all at once. The facility is clean, welcoming and calm. The doctors take their time with you (for the most part) to help you understand what is going on. I appreciate their professionalism and desire to discharge quickly. Thank you, Advent South!

From the patient registration person that greeted me to the quick, but compassionate care received from the medical team, my experience was 5 star! It was 2 days before my son's wedding when I started to feel ill. The team at Advent diagnosed me quickly and even gave me an initial dose of antibiotics so I could get to feeling better as quickly as possible. I was so grateful for the care I received! The front desk person was an absolute gem! So, so kind!!!

The staff is always polite and courteous. They really care about your well-being. The wait time from registration to bring seen by the ER doctor was relatively quick, even though they were super busy!

My care at this South Overland Park ER was top of the line from the minute I walked in this ER ! They took me in with no wait Time, from the check in desk she was a 10 out of 10, and they put me in Room one , the nurse was on his game asking all the questions and listen to me explain my problems and started tests. Another nurse had my IV line in never felt a thing! Took blood and a urinalysis, and the tech came in to get a CT Scan he was amazing help me from chair to machine! Did it like a pro, he was!! I was in and out. Back to my ER room 1 and the doctor read the test they run. The doctor came in told me what was wrong with me, and they called my script in and I was released and done in an hour or less!! Plus Advent ER nurse called the very next day to check on me !! The is a10 out of 10 hospital! I recommend anyone in need of health care this place is top notch!! I will tell everyone about Advent south Overland Park Er hospital is the Best ever!❤️🙏 thank you

Everyone was so pleasant. They did things at speeds you don’t see in ER visits. Friday evening I was seen in less than 10minutes. Shortly after the nurse took my vitals the doppler tech came in and did her thing and the doctor came in and I had no blood clot in my leg. I was released and back home in great time.

I went to the ER. Was in fantastic pain from an accident that resulted in broken bones. The lack of urgency or concern was alarming. The attention to me getting paperwork done instead of showing human concern for me was noted and obvious.

I took my mom there (the same ER) two years ago. She was having a STROKE when timeliness is critical to avoid brain damage. Again, the same experience. Lots of attention to paperwork but minimal concern for her health.

The ER is a couple blocks from my home so we have used it twice as mentioned. In both instances the issues were significant and the concern for health certainly appeared to be minimal compared to the concern for paperwork. Frankly, a terrible experience.

I will say that once we got into the actual care unit, the people “past the walls” were helpful and attentive. The policies, delay, and practice procedures on the front end made the whole experience nerve-racking and did were harmful in critical times.

Nurses were comforting & I was very happy with them. Dr was a lil frustrating with her attitude while I was struggling with symptoms. Irritated at the check in process, looking back. I was having trouble breathing, head laying on the desk & the reception continued asking me questions while seemingly ignoring my symptoms.

We arrived at Advent Health South emergency room at around 10:00 am on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 due to a fall by Evelyn Dooling. The patient presented an Open Fracture Wound on the elbow bleeding profusely. The ER staff was efficient in mostly stopping the bleeding and setup X-Rays and CT scans of the head, shoulder, elbow and hip areas. The ER doctor seemed very efficient and good--no problems with him. The issue was with the off-site OrthoPede Surgeon/Doctor who could not discern what should be done with this Open Fracture elbow wound/break. At one point, we were told we would have two surgeries--one to clean out the joint area...then later to have one to repair the Olecranon bone by an Orthopedic surgeon. Then one hour later, we were told--"that we could go home with some antibiotics"..and to contact an Orthopedic surgeon ASAP.
Confused by all of this, we left and went home. The next morning, we wisely went to KCOI Urgent care who took additional X-rays and concluded that this break should have been cleaned and repaired the day before.....fortunately, we were able to have an emergency surgery that evening at St. Lukes South hospital and an overnight stay. The surgeon was highly concerned regarding lack of care at the ER at Advent as well as the possibility of infection from such a break. Why did not the Orthopedic surgeon on call come in to look this bad Open Fracture Wound.

We feel this needs to be called to attention so that this never happens again at Advent System hospitals.
