In general, ERs suck. And I was very anxious to go, This was my first time at CS ER. And even though
It was busy tonight, and the ER was under construction, they moved everyone along at a quick pace. I waited about 1 hour in the waiting room and then a short time in the ER before I saw a doctor. The nurses, radiologist, and doctor were professional and thorough. Everything they did was great. I have no complaints. I was respectfully treated within an hour and waited for a bed to open up to be admitted. Of all the ERs I've been to, this was the least traumatic, quickest, most painless experience.

Today my visit was one of the best no one wants to go to the ER ever. The staff was excellent and so helpful. Completely a different experience from the last time I was here about 3 years ago. The tech Taitiana was so helpful. Dr.Libby actually asked me if I had questions. The transport guys were so just lovely. Thank you. Wow want a difference! I wasn’t going to come here at all but thank you making it less stress full to get care. Dr.Libby is fantastic!

I went through the trouble of recovering my password just to write this.

I brought my wife to Cedars-Sinai Emergency Room today (1/15/2025) at 7:00 AM. It is now 4:00 PM, and she has yet to be seen. This seems to be the norm here. Some other patients in the waiting area mentioned they’ve been here since 3:00 AM and are only now being seen.

The lack of organization is baffling. The nurses at the check-in station seem more interested in chatting and looking at their phones than helping patients. My wife was called multiple times by different staff members for various things, yet nothing was done to expedite her care.

The environment only adds to the unpleasant experience. The waiting area is uncomfortably cold and brightly lit. The vending machine is broken despite being serviced while we were here, and even when it works, drinks are overpriced at $5.

What’s most upsetting is the utter lack of consistency in how patients are called. The announcements are barely audible, and there’s no clear system or order. For a hospital of Cedars-Sinai’s reputation, this level of disorganization is crazy.

Emergency rooms are never pleasant places, but I expected more from this place. Also, don’t spend time replying back to negative reviews. Don't tell me that’s how you allocated time and money. Change is easy, listen and take action.

I waited over 3 hours last night and sadly was never seen, there was a couple shooting TikTok videos in the emergency waiting area laughing about their condition.

A nurse had to kindly tell them that shooting video footage in the waiting area isn’t allowed so they laughed and sat down.

After they waited 25 to 30 minutes they went up to the front desk and asked how much longer? The male nurse said 3 hours at least and they said that’s a long time and sat down, because I had been there for over 3 hours I went up and asked the same nurse how long will my wait be? And he said they were just waiting for a bed to become available and I said okay and sat down.

Then 13 minutes after I sat down the couple who asked before was called in, I knew that wasn’t right because I had been waiting hours before they arrived but I calmly waited 15 more minutes because I had already been there for an extended amount of time.

Then another lady who came two hours after me was called in before me and I waited more time. Please if you want to live and be helped don’t come here, this isn’t an emergency room, this hospital isn’t concerned about your life here. Try another hospital where you’ll be seen and helped I had to come home past 5 in the morning and I was never seen please don’t come here.

So I waited 8 hours and left right before I got the text the doctor was ready to see me... but I still have a lot of positive to say about this ER. The staff was kind and understanding. The nurse apologized upfront for the wait and explained why it's hard to predict how long things will take. There are also messages posted on the wall or on screens to that effect. The nurse was so sweet to say they are here for us knowing that we are here because we are going through a painful time. They did my testing really quickly - ekg, blood and xray. Then I just waited for many hours.... but you can get the test results on the link they provide. I like that they show care to the people in the waiting room by continuing to check vitals, offering water bottles and blankets. There are chairs that recline back for the elderly. The staff were all courteous and not rude to me even at the reception/entrance. They did their best to keep up with bathroom cleaning. The screens with the news on are a nice touch. So I was there 8 hours which felt pretty awful, but I've been to the ER at St. Joseph's in Burbank. Cedars Sinai ER was a MILLION times better.

Absolutely horrible. I went to the ER in extreme pain on 1/29/25 at 8:50am. Unless you are dying you are not a priority. The nurses at check in are cold and more interested in talking amongst themselves. Very poor communication. They would not give me an estimate of the wait after an hour and a half. My bloodwork and urine test had not been processed. After I got them to say I should expect to wait another 4 hours, I asked for pain meds and they said it would take at least an hour to get it. I understand that healthcare workers are under alot of stress but if Cedars is the best we have to offer, our health care system is in deep trouble. So disappointing. I opted to look for an urgent care center instead.

While visiting California, I went to the emergency room. I’ was impressed with the efficiency, thoroughness, professionalism and bedside manner of all staff at this very busy city hospital. I was in and out within two hours.
My experience was interesting when compared to a traditional smaller hospital emergency room. Typically, you are placed in a room, given a blood test and any other needed tests. Then you wait for the doctor which can take anywhere from 15 minutes to a half hour. You leave with a checklist or brief description of a care plan. Tats a 30 minute visit.
Here at Cedar Sinai, you have all of the tests to be needed in triage. You then called back to meet with the doctor who already knows what the plan is and you are momentarily released. You get pages and pages of professional reports and documentation as well as a medical chart link.
I feel like I’ve had a complete health assessment that should last a long time. While it took a little longer it was by far superior.
