We went to the ER at 7:15 pm and never got to a room until 5:30 am. I understand it was a crazy night with a lot of truma patience. My son needed an IV he was very dehydrated. Why couldn't the ER give him an IV and sit him out in the waiting room. We would of been fine with that. And why cant Urgent Care give IVs they used to. But when your throwing up and dehydrated and Need fluids you have to go to the ER. Stupid, do better Meritus. Also the nurse at the desk was very rude. But when we got back to the room everyone was great everything was ready to go.

I wish I could give less than one star! My doctor sent me to the ER due to having a severe headache for the last 3 days and elevated bp. I have a history of stroke and heart disease. Everything moved fairly quickly in the beginning. Had a cat scan, blood work and vitals done. That however was several hours ago! They've given me nothing for my head (which is still pounding). And don't get me started on the stench đŸ€ź I will not return here again.

My MIL has currently been waiting in the waiting area for over 8 hours. Meritus, you should have used that $5 million for an upgraded ER instead of a stadium. Instead of building a “school” you should have used the money for an upgraded ER. The wait time to see a Dr is unacceptable. Especially for someone who had an artery clean-out just 2 weeks ago. She’s swollen and in pain and sitting in the wait area being ignored. Unacceptable.

I had a great experience at the ER. The elderly lady at the front desk was very pleasant. My RN Cameron (hope i spelled that right) was nice and made you feel at ease..salt of the earth which helped my anxiety of being in there. Dr. Jeffrey Haines was excellent. He explained everything throughly and was most professional and attentive doctor I've experienced in a while.

I just wanted to say that Dr. Shaffer(an older lady that is just the sweetest and coolest Dr. I’ve ever met)and all of the nursing, staff, and security were excellent, understanding, kind and professional. I was sick as a dog from about the 11th-21st of this month. I’m just glad I got sick AFTER my Birthday on the 8th haha, but I ended up having to go to the ER. I originally had a scheduled appointment with my Dr. at Meritus Family Medicine, but they were scared for me so they wheeled me over to the ER. I found out I had pneumonia and my left lung was impacted more than my right. I waited a while and it wasn’t too long probably about a half hour. I was taken back in the middle of a crazy rush when everyone got busy/the ER lobby was starting to get packed. I was at the Hospital from about 1:15p-9:30p haha. Everyone was excellent and treated me with care. The Doc and Nursing made sure I was given food and drink before I was “discharged” too. The antibiotics and cough syrup were ready for pickup the day after. Today was the last Day of my scheduled antibiotics and I feel great. What I had was terrible and the second to worst I’ve ever been. First would be Covid after I got my Booster. I rarely get sick and I thank my Mom and my childhood for that haha. I was sick for almost two weeks and the Azithromycin killed everything! Thank you guys and keep up the good work. WellSpan of PA where I live now, sucks. Meritus of Western Maryland is normally great especially in Hagerstown. Thank you again guys. Seriously, please keep up the good work. We all need it especially in todays crazy dysfunctional world.

The waiting room was filthy! There was trash everywhere from patient’s bandaging after their bloodwork. There were used tissues all over the floor, chairs, and tables. There was a used puke bag on a table. Floors were caked with dirt. Bottles containing antibacterial solution for hands were empty. The bathrooms were disgusting and did not have toilet paper or paper towels and the bathroom trash was overflowing. They did not wipe down blood pressure cuffs or pulse ox devices between patients. There were used blankets strewn about. The vending machines were broken/did not dispense what was paid for. The triage tv screen was stuck on 7/18/24, which is close to four months ago. The staff in the waiting room were rude and voiced that they did not want to be there. As expected with any ER the wait time was outrageously long. Nurses and NP were kind, which was the only positive.

Was sent with my daughter from urgent care due to high heart rate and chest pain. Waited 12 hours to be taken back for treatment. Immediate testing was done but after that it was only waiting with no one telling us anything about why it was taking so long. Care was great once we went back but waiting all that time is insane.

I visited the ER last night and I had a great experience with ALL of the staff. I was seen quickly and my issues were addressed immediately and taken seriously. I ended up having to go to the OR and have to stay a couple of nights but again, all the staff has been amazing to me. They have been thorough and I am very pleased with my experience here.
