My partner and I had a great experience at the Inova Alexandria ER. After being referred from an urgent care for a migraine of 6 days, my partner received a head CT scan and was in a bed within an hour. This was our first time visiting an ER, and we were thoroughly impressed by the organization and professionalism of the staff. Thank you for taking care of my partner and ensuring he was not discharged until he was pain free.

This is one of the best most well coordinated ER departments I have visited. I arrived on a weekday at 5:00 AM and explained my issues in detail and was seen with medical tests completed all within 2 hours. The front desk staff, the triage nurse, the nurses (who are the super hero’s and hardest workers), the cleaning/maintenance crew all were amazing, kind, professional and truly cared. The technology and promptness was one of a kind. I hope they maintain these staff and kudos to them! Can’t thank them enough!

This emergency room is top notch. My Mom is visiting from Iowa and picked up severe food poisoning...I'll spare the details, but we did not wait long to get a bed. From the EMT1 that initially met us, the nurses, doctors...you would have thought she was some rich or famous person, not a 76 year old from Madison county Iowa. She was admitted and the staff on her floor continued the high quality of care people feel has left the American healthcare system. I told my wife if something happened to me...take me to Inova Alexandria.

Writing a review of an emergency room feels somewhat pointless, since most often when people have an emergency, they simply go to the nearest emergency room. It's not like choosing a restaurant. (The only tip I can provide is not to look at star ratings, but to look at ER wait times, which are easier to find than ever. If there is an ER that's 15 minutes further away than the closest one, but its wait time is 20 minutes and the nearer one is 200 minutes, go to the further one.)

I had some leeway in choice of ER since I was getting a needed but not urgent blood transfusion. I had an unhappy experience at the Suburban hospital ER previously, so I went to Alexandria since I have had largely positive experiences there with my family over many years.

Timing is everything--I was able to choose when to go, and went on a Monday morning when it was very quiet. I went from the check-in desk to seeing a doctor in less than 5 minutes. I was in a room and getting ready for the transfusion in less than 30 minutes. My nurse Connie and my physician--I'm afraid I forget her name--were great. It was as good as an experience as one could have under the circumstances.

Please remember that triaging patients is a core need for an emergency room at busy times, and if someone comes in after you and is seen first, there is a reason for it. Patients who are justifiably scared and anxious can find ER providers cold or uncaring, but the only way those providers can manage their jobs well is to keep some emotional distance when things are hectic so they can make the wise, right choices for a lot of patients in need.

Never to attempt to come here. These emergency doctors and staff. They don't care about you whether you're gonna die or live. I came in for my ankle pain and she did not want to give me more thing to help me. So I could function. I was throbbing once they get ahold of your medicare card? They'll throw you out like you're nothing. I never liked this emergency room.I was in another emergency room.I was in another emergency room.About 2 weeks ago, the Doctor helped me with my ankle pain.Cause I have Arthritis on the ankle this one here.They think that you're doing them a favor by coming here

The worst emergency ever specially this guy name is Steven short white guy he is the most rudest person ever . My 3 years old son struggling and I ask him why he put ppl in they came after me he said I don’t care and I don’t want argue with whatever he said I was like I will never come back here !. I wonder they have only 2 stars.👎

Medical staff at this place are tired of seeig people!
That s all i can say about this hospital, i m talking specifically about the ER staff, nasty and terrible attitude and service from the cashiers to the RNs and some doctors inside.

I have only gone here once but I had a positive experience with everyone I encountered. Front desk staff were nice, the CT scan guy was very respectful and kind, the girl who wheeled me to the scan was friendly, and the nurses and doctors were friendly too. I also did not end up needing anything serious done so I was only there for 3 hours on a Tuesday evening. Everything went quickly and they were also very accommodating to my boyfriend who was staying with me while I was receiving care. One woman noticed I was cold and got me a blanket. It felt like it had just come fresh out of a dryer, which was amazing. I appreciated the helpfulness in making sure I felt comfortable. Overall I felt cared for, my initial concerns were validated by staff, and I had a very good experience here.
