I had the best time touring the old town and castle with Bela. She provided wonderful modern insights into life in today’s Germany, both for locals and integrated immigrants. She also shared detailed historical stories that made every scene feel cinematic and unique. Her tours are a perfect blend of modern perspectives, historical significance, and cultural depth. I would highly recommend her to anyone who appreciates a holistic travel experience in the beautiful city of Heidelberg.

We were lucky enough to have Henry to ourselves on this great walking tour.
Henry was very informative about the history of Heidelberg, the best restaurants and pubs to visit. The walk included a walk along the river and the old bridge.
Henry spoke English and told us some great stories about beautiful Heidelberg.
We recommend this tour it is a great introduction to this charming and vibrant city.

This is a rather late review, considering that we had our tour with Henry in Apr this year, but I thought it must be posted regardless.

We were fortunate that Henry had availability on our arrival in Germany, so we managed to fit in a visit to the Black Forest, which was what my mum had really wanted to see on the trip. We wouldn't have been able to get there otherwise, as we weren't keen on driving there.

Prior to our trip, Henry planned an itinerary which met all our preferences and made everything work time-wise. Whilst the weather wasn't the best, we still had a wonderful time enjoying the scenic views of what we could see of the Black Forest. (For those visiting the Black Forest, the black forest cake is a must try.)

Henry also showed us around Baden-Baden, some quaint villages and Heidelberg. Henry knew the best spots to park for photos of the countryside, and he gave a comprehensive but no less interesting explanation of the history of each of the areas we visited.

Henry is quite possibly one of the kindest and most generous guides you'll ever meet, and he went above and beyond in welcoming us to Germany. To end the day, Henry treated us to some cakes at one of his favourite cafes, which was a really pleasant surprise, and which we really enjoyed. As we were planning to take the rail to Frankfurt, Henry went with us into the train station to ensure that we would find the correct platform. We were mortified when we ultimately chose not to take the rail, in favour of an Uber to our hotel in Frankfurt, but Henry didn't seem to mind at all and even led us to the pick-up point.

We felt that we were looked after throughout the tour, which made it the highlight of our trip (even more so than the Berlin Phil concert I attended). Thank you for showing us around, Henry -- we wish you and your family all the best and a very merry festive season.

Great tour today Henry! Thanks for weaving in the Germany facts and the links (however tenuous) to Australia! We enjoyed the casual relaxed tour.

We had booked a 3-hour tour for Dec 8. The meeting point for the tour was the Hercules fountain at the main Marktplatz which was great as it was right across our hotel. We had a British tour guide named Henry Cottam who has been living in Germany for more than a decade. So communication was smooth. The tour began at 9am.

Henry showed us around the most prominent landmarks & important historical places of interest, various market squares, Church of the Holy Spirit, history pf our hotel- Zum Ritter St. Georg. We had a pleasant morning walk exploring the shopping areas after which we headed back to the Neccar River.
We got to know of some interesting trivia about the arched old bridge (aka the Karl Theodor Bridge), and also went to the main library & museum which housed the world's first bicycle prototype on display.
Henry even recommended a hike up the Philosopher's Way on our personal time & we are so thankful to him for suggesting that because we went up there later in the afternoon & were able to enjoy a bird's eye view of the entire town!

The tour concluded with a funicular ride up to the grand Heidelberg Castle. We walked around the grounds & gardens & saw some weird German art. Henry was kind enough to take some pictures of us. He also kept us entertained with interesting stories about the Heidelberg Tun (the great wine barrel) As the time of the tour drew to a close, we decided to taste some Gluh wine (hot mulled wine) at the café located on the castle premises as the the perfect way to say goodbye to Henry.

We loved everything about the extensive 3 hour tour & found our tour guide to be extremely knowledgable about a place which is not even his homeland & so that was indeed very impressive. We would definitely recommend this tour to other tourists.

Henry led my wife and me on a captivating 2.5-hour tour of Heidelberg's Altstadt on the crisp morning of March 23rd, accommodating our last-minute booking made just the afternoon before. It turned out to be an exclusive experience with only Henry, my wife, and me on an unusually calm and quiet morning.

We traversed the essential landmarks of Heidelberg's Altstadt, ascended to the majestic castle, savored the ambiance of a charming local café, and strolled across the iconic Karl Theodor Bridge. Henry's authenticity as a local, rooted in 15 years of residency in the Heidelberg region, shone through his profound and comprehensive grasp of its history and lore.

As our time concluded, Henry generously shared his insights, steering us towards delightful dining spots, cozy pubs, and hidden gems for further exploration, all of which surpassed our expectations. Without reservation, my wife and I enthusiastically endorse Henry's services. His affable demeanor, wealth of knowledge, and intimate familiarity with Heidelberg's Altstadt render him an incomparable choice for walking tours.
