Florida south Adventh health. I have a health condition of paraplegia. The reasons I went to the ER. 1 at the nursing home I was having chills hot and cold with a high fever. 2 My lieconduit is infected. 3 I do have a nephrosis tube due to the ureter by being blocked by obstruction. 4 There's a sign of infection on the urine. 5 My blood pressure has being high since Thursday. I would have love to place 5 stars but they keep me laying down on the screthcher after my admission for 4 hours waiting in the ED. The nurses capable to find the IV vain and help me with antibiotics. That's why you getting 3 stars. On my next visit I hope things change for me to give you a 5 stars.

First, I am grateful for Advent. I’m used to top tier experiences. I’ve had surgery at this hospital and have only had positive things to say. The experience in the ER was the opposite. I was taken back quickly, which was a plus. When I told the nurse that I am a hard stick, meaning it’s more difficult to find a vein for an IV or blood draw, I recommended she use a vein finder, which she refused. I then directed her to the vein that has a 99% success rate in my hand, which almost immediately blew. This would have been fine, but because she didn’t lay a cloth down, when the vein blew, she got blood all over my shirt and pants. I kept asking for her to use a vein finder. It wasn’t until another nurse tried twice that they finally said “ok, if we can’t get it this time, we will get the machine.” They prodded me in multiple directions trying to get the vein, in and out, side to side. With a tear falling from my eyes one of them asked “does that hurt?” Which I replied “yes”. Then when it blew, she SLAMMED hard on my arm with the needle IN my arm to keep from blood going everywhere again. I’m badly bruised all over my arms from this experience. The entry point of this particular insertion is black and swollen 5 days later. The doctor was kind, so were the porters, the nurses were professional, but I hated the way they facilitated trying to get my IV. No one ID’d my family when they arrived, the receptionist was complaining loudly to another employee about how she was written up and had to go to HR. Other locations have tighter practices and provide world class service. Advent’s largest hospital in the city should have an ER team that should be the best in class and set the bar the highest.

If I could give this Emergency Room 0 stars I would. They have no sense of urgency and the attention is the worst I have ever experienced. I went in due to an emergency with my pregnancy and heavy bleeding, they put me in a room to wait for over an hour, we went to ask the nurse how much longer to be seen or at least have someone come in the room, she opened the door behind me to ask the doctor and he said “Oh, I totally forgot”. I immediately got up and left, I went to the Women’s Hospital wing for OB ER which they should have routed me to initially and there were women there who had been waiting for 6 hours, I have never seem such negligence.

In September 2023 I had heart bypass surgery at Florida Hospital/Advent Health Orlando. I continue to go there for any non-trauma related issues and I am never disappointed with the excellent care I received from the doctors and staff. I will continue to strongly recommend them for any cardiac issues.

I am going back to the hospital today
5 days ago I was told my symptoms were just a continuing infection and was sent home with antibiotics. I was told nothing wrong with my kidneys. I get my blood work back and every single sign from that report shows kidney disease. They have some answering to today.

The ER waiting room staff area Could be more respectful and compassionate and understanding when patient comes in with health issues. Plus the security need a attitude adjustment some of people on their team.

I went to Advent ER on Rollings Ave. not knowing what to expect. I always heard great things but never had the experience to share my experience. When I got there the warmth and welcome I received, I felt like I was at a Luxury Hospital Hotel😁. From the valet parking to registration was such a welcoming experience. My care team was very caring, loving and made sure I was comfortable. I felt the Love from the Doctor to the nurses to the radiologist and don’t forget the insurance specialist. I felt the comfort and care all around. I was offered something to drink and a nice sandwich while I waited for my results. I didn’t wait long and I didn’t stay for long hours which I had expected. It was an amazing experience being that this was my first time going to the ER for myself. I would recommend Advent Health Orlando.

It was truly not what I expected. Years ago I had an allergic reactions at work and went there and my experience was very nasty. I was setting in a wheelchair with an IV in the middle of the waiting room. This time it was very pleasant. I was offered a blanket because I was cold and my daughter was given water. The nurse and Dr were very concerned and pleasant. They didn't make me wait all night. I am glad I choose them because of how well I was treated.
