Concerned and disappointed in the care received here. I came in to the “closest ER “ room as instructed by my doctor in Los Angeles as I was having cramping to my legs, headache, shortness of breath, dizziness and chest pain following a massive bilateral pulmonary embolism and bilateral pulmonary infarct 2 weeks ago. I would have been “ok”(like 2 star review) with care received until nurse Desiree (not sure the spelling) took it upon herself to tell the doctor my bradycardia was because I was “sleeping” hence why I took a photo of my vital signs with the low heart beat. For me this is new onset bradycardia following a PE. This could mean a bunch of things but to flat out lie is 1) not the right thing to do 2) lazy 3) youre working at a faith based hospital, isnt lying a sin? Then you apologize and assume I was sleeping….stop talking because I can hear everything you say outside the door. I recorded the whole ordeal after I heard you lie. If I were sleeping I would not have known the room next to me was an inmate who was assaulted at 7am AGAIN. Dear Dr Lin, I understand being a rural doctor can suck. The quality of care and education is stagnate. New onset bradycardia and you are trying to give your patient reglan and benadryll for their headache gone migraine….. wink wink nudge nudge wouldnt give a bradycardiac patient you know nothing about reglan and benadryll. I do not care if that is your cookie cutter prescription for headaches that walk through the ED. Hence why I refused them. Youre welcome -CVICU RN/patient 💀Thats not how you treat a patient that appears to be having cardiac conduction issues following a PE. Dear ED NONE of you practiced hand hygiene or wiped down any of the instruments used on various patients. You didnt even change the sheet I laid on to do the EKG and then another patient laid on it….it was really an “interesting” experience that I hope no one has to experience but looking at the reviews apparently this is standard practice here. Heroes dont work here, burnt out people who dont care anymore work here. Do better. No wonder all job posts on indeed have a 25k sign on bonus 😂

I’ve been here for over 8 hours. With a IV syringe in my arm waiting for my results for the past 4 hours. The service for getting treatment was fast and reliable. But for the results? INSANE. I asked if the results were ready, and they said it was and to wait, but other patients where being discharged while I sit here and wait. If my results are ready why are patients who were here after me getting called in? I asked if they could remove the IV from my arm since its in a tight vein and they said to wait until discharge and see if I need more bloodwork. When will that be? In another 4 hours? I am sorry but this cannot be the only hospital that accepts Kaiser. Please do better with communicating with patients on why the waits are happening. I work in the mornings and It’s ridiculous to wait 8 hours in an empty ER room.

I recently had a distressing experience at Adventist Health Emergency Department that I feel compelled to share. The quality of care and service left much to be desired, and it was a deeply frustrating ordeal from start to finish. To begin with, the wait times were abysmal. I arrived at the hospital and was told that I would have to wait around 5 hours just to get a CT scan. I understand that emergencies can happen and that hospitals can be busy, but the sheer length of the wait was unacceptable, especially considering the urgency of medical issues that brought me there. What compounded the frustration was the additional 6-hour wait for the results of the scan. During this time, there was a lack of clear communication from the staff about when the results would be available or what the next steps would be. The entire process felt disorganized and lacked transparency. The long wait times not only added to the physical discomfort but also created a sense of anxiety and helplessness. It seemed as though the staff were overwhelmed and unable to manage the patient load effectively. Despite the seemingly competent medical professionals, the overall experience was marred by these logistical failures. In summary, while I’m sure Adventist Health has capable medical staff, the experience I had at their Emergency Department was characterized by excessively long wait times and poor communication. If you’re seeking timely and efficient care, you might want to consider other options or be prepared for a long and frustrating process.

I honestly have no words to explain my experience. I came in at midnight with SOB and chest pains which the provider ordered a steroid injection and a breathing treatment. I waited, then I waited, and waited even more only for the provider to "follow up" with me for a reassessment before I got discharged and I had to tell her that I didn't receive the steroid and never received the breathing treatment. She apologized and explained that I was only gonna get the steroid because it was a busy night. I work in an urgent care where we see hundreds of people a day and never have I ever once forgot about a patient for hours which is gross negligence, let alone a patient that was experiencing my symptoms. Thankfully I was only having a viral cough but after reading that a relative had passed away due to their lack of care, I would be extremely wary coming here. My provider was great, the transporter who took me to get my x-ray was awesome, and Cathy was doing her best to keep the spirits high and that is the only reason why I can give a star at all.

I went to emergency 9 times in a row. For insane pain in my ears and head and cervical spine. The people there told me it was constipation. We're do you get these people. I lost all my weight down to 69 lbs. It was hard to eat. They treated me like a drug addict. I finally went home just to give up and die. My doctor was no help. Finally he put me on pain medication so I could now go to doctors to find out the problems. I told my husband i wanted to leave bakersfield. Just to get away from you. I will never no matter what ever go back to that filthy rud place. Iam still going to doctors to find out what is happening. I believe it's a pinched nerve. Wich a lot of other doctors agreed. Its my neck or a collapsed disc in my back. And your manager well I won't say what I think about her. You have 4 stars on your website. Because you put it there. Ok well good luck. You need it.

Should take “EMERGENCY” off the building because nothing is an emergency here. My husband had open abdominal surgery 8/29 on his liver and was released from Kaiser Sunset on 9/1. On 9/2 his blood oxygen level went low and he was having shortness of breath. I took him to “Emergency” around 1:00 in the afternoon. It was verified his oxygen level was low so he was given an oxygen tank and told to sit in the waiting area. It was very difficult for him to sit because of the abdominal surgery 4 days prior. There was no regard for his recent surgery at all. Literally we were sitting in the waiting area so long the oxygen tank ran out 2 times. Periodically, he was taken back to do labs, an EKG and chest XRay. After each procedure he was put back in the waiting room. As it became more crowded in the waiting room, I was told that I had to wait outside or in my car. Much more to this horrific experience but long story short after 10+ hours my husband was diagnosed with pneumonia and admitted to the hospital. He was finally taken to a room at 3:00 am, 14 hours after arrival. I believe there was one doctor in the ER and a bunch of snotty nurses. Kaiser should rethink their contract with Bakersfield Adventist Health ER. This story is not made up. It was a real life nightmare. Would give a zero rating if I could.

They don't care about you, they are extremely rude and I swear they tried killing one of my friends during the COVID outbreak. BEAWARE! ALWAYS HAVE A PATIENT ADVOCATE FOR YOURSELF AND THATS NO MATTER WHERE YOU GO. Be safe out there! Much love to my fellow humans 💚we are all in this together

Not only have I read so many bad reviews about this hospital, yet while trying to call yesterday and asking a female representative how serious are patients being seen here for pain, she automatically clicked on me. I find that disrespectful and rude. I mean your a grown adult seriously and I did not ask anything wrong
