I recently visited this ER for sudden, severe back pain. Initially, I was impressed with how quickly the nurse took my vitals and started the intake process. However, the overall experience was disappointing. Despite the ER being slow and quiet, I waited a long time to see a doctor, to get answers, to receive treatment (a shot), and finally to be discharged. What should have been a simple visit stretched to over three hours.

The biggest issue was the lack of thoroughness. Despite the severity of my pain, no imaging was done. I later sought a second opinion and learned it was a bulging disc, not just a back spasm as initially diagnosed here. While the staff was polite, I felt the evaluation and treatment were not as comprehensive as they should have been, especially given how little activity there seemed to be at the time.

I hope this feedback helps improve efficiency and attention to detail for future patients.

We loved this hospital until the last three times we have gone, we had Dr walker. She was very very judgmental and has NO bedside manner. One of the times we had her me and my husband brought in our week old son with a brand new circumsion because we were worried there was a issue with it, we were there for 2 hours before she even wanted to look at it and we had to ask her to look at it. She continuously made us feel less than for being worried young parents and told us that none of the reasons we had came to the hospital were emergencies and that we should not be coming into the hospital. She refused to help us when our new born was pooping blood and losing weight because of how much he was puking. When asked for her supervisor she continued to lie to us saying that she was the highest position at mckee at that time. When we finally found a way to talk to the supervisor she told us she had no clue why Dr. Walker said she wasn’t there because Dr. Walker knew she was there. She has a horrible ratting on healthgrades.com. When we look on health grades it seems like multiple other people have had the same experience with her even at other hospitals in other states. I’m honestly not sure why she is still working there or even is aloud to be a doctor. We will no longer be returning to Mckee as we have had her the last three times we’ve gone and our experiences have been horrible.

I came in thinking my spleen was hurt, it was just two broken ribs. Everyone from the check-in, nurses, to doctors were prompt and so friendly. It was a much better experience here than the ratings show, at least for me.

I no longer feel safe to visit McKee ER.
Dr. Forest Platt Walker was the doctor treating me in the ER. She treated me HORRIBLY!! She reported falsely on my medical chart. If I have another health event similar to the one I had on Oct 13th, another doctor will look at my chart, see Dr. Walker's notes, and become prejudiced, and that will impede my treatment. She lied in her notes. Those FALSE notes NEED to be redacted! She did NOT listen to concerns, has NO bedside manner, was RUDE to my 2 daughters that accompanied me, and were there to advocate for me considering I couldn't talk very well, due my migraine I was having, which manifests similar to a stroke and Dr. Walker refused to listen to concerns, and had her own preconceived idea of what I was going through, instead of looking at my medical records to see what has already been documented concerning my migraine history. She treated me like I was a drug addict shopping for drugs. My call light button was NOWHERE near reach for me to alert staff. A nasal cannula was left in my nose even though it wasn't connected to anything. I was having a neurological event that caused my arms to be heavy, my speech was affected, my legs were heavy, my head was heavy, my vision was sensitive to light, and I feel that Dr. Walker did NOT do her due diligence to help me. I have not ever had to give a urine sample in order to be discharged for a neurological event. Dr. Walker verbally implied to me and my children that I had cannabinoid hyperemesis, which formed a prejudiced view, which impacted my treatment. I DID NOT have cannabinoid hyperemesis! I am under treatment by Dr. Howard for hemiplegic, complicated migraines. Dr. Walker stated in my medical report that I was able to sit up on my own, which is a lie, because she sat me up so suddenly and briskly that it flung my head forward, which at the time I did not have the strength to hold up, and it feels like I now have a pulled muscle in my neck. My daughters were fearful of Dr. Walker kicking them out if they spoke up to advocate for me, and then I would've been alone, and I was unable to fully advocate for myself. Doctors have the power to influence nursing staff on how patients are treated. I feel that Dr. Walker set the tone with the staff for my treatment. Her FALSE REPORTING, and the treatment of my daughters says a lot about her character and how she represents Banner McKee Medical Center. I have NEVER been so horribly treated by the McKee ER, until that event! If my husband, or any of my children need to go to the ER, I would be extremely fearful for them to get Dr. Walker and that they would not get the treatment they need and deserve.

The lack of care was appaling. The physician was rude, unkind, and unprofessional. I will be contacting the physicians board and have contacted my insurance company. I will never willingly go to Banner McKee again.

I did not plan to post this review, but the hospital kept emailing me, requesting I review my visit on Google, and so here I am.

Pretty sure they gave me someone else's blood work, stating that I was pregnant only to go to Planned Parenthood the next day and, nothing. Ruined my week honestly.

Long story short. I now have arthritis due to the ER missing multiple bone fractures. Their error has caused me 2 surgeries and a lot of medical expenses. Truly a nightmare. Youre better off staying at home.

The Dr. Did not thoroughly look at my son's throat and ears. She did not do any further testing, except for a strep throat culture. Before the strep throat culture even came back positive, the doctor said his ears and throat looked fine. She was going to send us home, and then all of a sudden, it clicked to her that she forgot to check the strep results. Well, she checked and the results were positive, so I'm assuming that my son's throat was not looking good, and neither was his ear. Also, she should have tested him for other tests like RSV, flu, covid.
And then I got a call later, and when I checked the voicemail, it said my son got the wrong dosage of a penicillin shot. He should have gotten half of a dosage, and he got the whole one. So, for me to just look out for symptoms that he might get, and if symptoms occur, to go back to the emergency room. I still have the voicemail.
