We waited 3.5 hours and never got seen by a doctor. We finally left. The people at the front desk were very pleasant and apologetic. The place was busy. It was 3am when we arrived & 3 hours later I noticed nobody was being seen. I was told the exam rooms were full, & the people in the ER exam rooms were waiting for hospital beds but there were non available. When we first arrived, there was maybe a dozen people. Then more and more people came but no one was being seen. By 6:30 am there was 4X as many people. I did not have confidence that this place had the staff or equipment to care for anyone. I was also hoping to still catch a flight home to California in a few hours. I just wanted to get home. It did not look as though I would be seen for a long time. I decided to take my chances and get a on a plane. We did not make it home until 8:30pm but fortunately my symptoms improved and I could see a doctor close to my home. This hospital and ER is not where I would want anyone I care about to have to go to.

My ER nurse Brandi, had very poor bedside manner. Not only was she dismissive when asked for assistance to use the restroom my request was ignored. I was transported to the ED by ambulance due to an ankle and foot injury following a fall. Assistance with the restroom is basic care. I was her patient but I was cared for by multiple nurses who noticed her neglect and only during the discharge did she arrive at the bedside.

My attending and the rest of the team did a good job.

The nurses were wonderful and caring. Especially sweet Michelle. Laughed and made me feel more at ease. The o my problems I had were being confined in a wheelchair and the bed I had to use was not comfortable, but that was because they were full and had no beds available. That’s the only real complaint I had but I had a back injury and that’s why I put it at 4 stars. There were either uncomfortable I experienced but that’s only because of the bill I’ll probably get, and the facts it’s a hospital and I never felt comfortable at any medical offices cause of past experiences. Staff were 100x better than st Francis that’s for sure.

I am grateful for the expertise of the ER at Baptist, however there has to be a better way of caring for the people who are sick. It used to be that people were taken into the treatment area according to the severity of their medical issue, the degree of threat to life and limb. It seems that to brought before a physician, verses a Nurse practionioner, you must wait to be seen after those with lesser issues. I have been in your ER no less than 5 times in the last 6 weeks due to having lung biopsies. I was either having severe pneumonia like pain or coughing up frank blood. Each time, I was there no more than18 hours, no less than 9 hours.
Prior to my biopsies, I was admitted to a unit and told that I needed to stay for further testing to rule out Lung Cancer diagnosis. This stay was extremely uncomfortable as 18 hours was spent in the ER, on a stretcher that I needed to let myself in and out of, to go to the rest room down the hall after disconnecting my monitors myself.
Then admitted the next morning to the unit only to be told that I couldn't get the necessary testing inpatient, that I needed to be outpatient with my pulmonologist!!!
On this last visit, I was in pain each time I coughed, which was probably every 10 mins or so. I finally was seen and given steroids and IM Toradol and sent home.
As I walked.to my car, I coughed a full mouth of frank blood 4 times, I was at the point that I was not going back inside .I assume that the Toradol was the cause of the blood but I don't know. I do know that in some cases it can cause bleeding. It helped my pain and the steroid was effective in decreasing the inflamation so all is well. But Baptist, really think you can do better!

Sat in the waiting rm for an hour was taken back to rapid care , had to sit in a very uncomfortable chair even though I was in terrible pain. Nurse practitioner came in and stayed about three minutes. Then had to sit there for two hours more when a nurse came in took my vitals and moved me to a waiting rm. oh I forgot she gave me a pill. I sat in the waiting room for about an hour and a half and asked what was happening. No stated your waiting to be discharged but there are four people ahead of you. Finally after an jr I was discharged. Suggestion: change the name from rapid response to we take our time!

From check in to exit absolutely the best experience of any utilizing an emergency room. The check in young lady showed concern for my condition and sent me straight to triage. The triage nurse, young blonde lady, took excellent care of me and paged the ER Doctor, I believe his name was Dr Parker, to come to triage to see me. They were concerned about a possible brain bleed. I was then taken by wheelchair to CT. After CT straight to my ER room where my nurse, Jack took excellent care of me and explained everything As he went. Jack was also very personable with my husband and put him at ease. Once the doctor received my results and everything was okay, I was allowed to be discharged. Even the young lady who transported me around during my visit and to our vehicle when we left was polite and very personable. If I had to utilize an ER, we picked the right one! A big thank you to all with whom we interacted.

I arrived around 10am with an IV from ent’s Thank you to them. They were the best! The waiting room was filled with whole families should only allow patient and driver Wirh flu covid and norovirus (which I had) going around. We should have had at least masks
I left around 5. No beds available. The staff were the best. Too bad our health care system has come to this. The ER is not meant to be a doctor office visit God help us!

The doctor who saw me . Came in looked at me talked two minutes. Then said there is nothing we can do for you . See your primary care physician. Short and sweet . Meanwhile my ears were ringing so loud I could barely hear anything. I came in because my eyes were blurry and my ears had been ringing for over a month . This is proof nobody cares if you don’t have insurance. It’s all about the money. Either be dead or close to death when you go here . This hospital was never like this till now . The name alone should make them ashamed of giving out services like this . Guess it’s not the name sake it use to be .
