This place clearly has undergone construction from the inside out.
Triage was prompt bringing me in, and I was in a bed within 10 min of walking in.

The nurses and doctors are seriously exhausted by dysfunctional patients. I saw a cop standing with shackles waiting for a convict in the bathroom. I heard a man trying to ‘not use names’ while describing an abusive situation.

It didn’t change anything in the kindness and quality of care I received. The staff worked together. An additional nurse checked in to make sure your treatment was optimal, trash was cleared out on the hour, and communication was thorough. And it was kind of remarkable in terms of what you typically see at the ER. Everyone hates the ER, but the Barstow one was pretty extraordinary and I was blown away.

This staff deserves a raise. Shout out to Nurse Michelle, Fred the nice guy, and my Dr with round glasses, a lovely sense of humor, and sending me out with a diagnosis. .

I was in and out in under an hour for a relatively minor but acute issue. All staff were very professional, friendly, and efficient, while the building seemed clean and well maintained. Grateful for the positive experience!

We came in 4/11/24 @ 9AM and out by 9:45AM. My daughter had a bead stuck up her nose. The staff was kind, child-friendly, quick and efficient. I live in Boron so it was between here or Lancaster which was a 5 hour wait! I will definitely be returning. Thank you all for an stress-free visit!! (happy mom)

Unlike a previous experience, this one was much better. Carlos, PA, was courteous and respectful of my privacy. He took the time to explain everything to me.
Cruz, the XR tech, was just as respectful and courteous.
They both are great additions to this hospital.

The nurses and triage/reception were all really great. Christina, especially, was really understanding and kind during my visit.

Dr Tang, however, has zero bedside manner. He was short with me, very rude, and complained that I had even come in. When I was waiting for my paperwork, I overheard him being very rude to another patient who was struggling to speak and then he walked away without letting the patient finish what he was saying.

Doctors like Dr Tang are the reason people end up with medical trauma and suffer at home instead of getting the help they need.

Hospital appears new. Emergency Department staff was competent, friendly, helpful. I arrived at 7am Saturday but did not wait long. Later they got busy and wait times must have been longer.

My mother was taken to this ER tonight.
She was confused and non responsive. Super high BP and heart rate. A clear COC from the previous day, where we discussed how many inches of snow there is on the mountains.
Today, she can’t say my name nor does she acknowledge I’m even there with her.
Dr Tang ran a battery of tests, to which, all were negative. So what does that mean to Dr Tang? TAKE HER HOME! Tried to discharge her, telling me the risks of hospital infections. Well the family will take our chances I told him. He argued that all tests were negative and he wouldn’t have anything to “treat her for”. Uumm ever heard of OBSERVATION
I was terrified to take my mother back home. She writhed in pain the entire time. I had to insist on pain management. I had to INSIST he admit her. He said “ok I can do that for you” like wtfff. It’s not for me it’s for HER.
What an idiot.
If it were not for the best nurse ever, Debbie, I would not have felt safe or comfortable to leave her alone until morning. Who knows what Vincent would do to her.

Was told there is no radiologist to read my X-rays…. Go home and the radiologist will call you tomorrow with your results. Days later with no call I called myself to get the results. Was told I was never told that and that they don’t have radiologist there to read ever. I got a rude nurse and then an even more unprofessional charge nurse. She cussed and hung up after I checked her for speaking over me and cutting me off over and over. Save yourself the stress and go anywhere else you can.
