I went in to the hospital yesterday after 4 years of on and off pain because I realized my symptoms could be indicative of something way worse than I had thought. The people around me kept telling me to ignore it and it would go away. I had gone to doctors, and the treatments weren’t working, so I was scared they would tell me to do something I had already done or just dismiss me, because I have previously felt very invalidated at the hospitals in my old city (San Antonio) as they would tell me that I was overreacting (even in situations where it was an actual medical emergency). Even if I did still get medical care in those situations, it was after hours of being ignored and dismissed and minimized. I was really nervous when my doctor stated he was still in his residency because of this and my family telling me not to go because of my lack of medical insurance and that it probably wasn’t an emergency. This hospital took me seriously the entire time I was there, listened to me and validated my concerns even when my concerns were not fully founded, and then helped me achieve the gold standard of care for my diagnosis, a herniated disc. Additionally, they provided me information with how to get medical care that is non emergency after I leave. I will forever recommend this hospital. Thank you.

The best experience at a hospital that you could ever want. My daughter had to go in for an electrical burn and being electrocuted. Every single doctor and nurse was amazing and they were all so thorough. AMAZING!
So thankful Seton Southwest sent us there. I hope to never have to go to a hospital but if I do have to, that’s the only one I’ll want to go to. Thank y'all so much!

This place is amazing, the nurses were perfect, they treated me excellent. I just think I'm going to cry because of what I have to pay hahaha, it's just horrible the parking lot was lost. A highly recommended hospital

It took about an hour to get my fracture seen, and I wasn’t given much help for my pain or enough information to understand how best to use my brace. I was discharged without any painkillers and it hurt an insane amount for the night after as I had nobody to help me do anything. I was also given the wrong number for the orthopedic surgeon they referred me to. They were very nice to me though, and I think I was seen relatively quickly considering that there were a lot of people there. Overall my visit took about 5 hours

Well, as far as ER experiences go, this was a very good one. I haven’t spent any time in ERs, but you often hear that someone has to wait forever before being seen. I was having heart issues while traveling out of town and my husband rushed me to the ER. I was seen immediately. I felt like the doctors did all the appropriate tests and gave me the right guidance. The staff was caring and kind. I could not have asked for more.

Apart from the very long wait (which should be expected considering it’s in the middle of downtown) everyone treated me with kindness and even cracked a few jokes. Thanks to the doctors I’m not getting pneumonia. Thank you Dell Seton. Especially for being very grounded and helpful considering I had no money they still provided medication, I have never been at a facility that actually cares. Thank you.

I really feel good with my Provider, E. Jimenez, very professional. She made me feel safe with patience. The interns were good also. But it was one, don’t remember her name, but I didn’t think she believed me when I told her I couldn’t take or swallow that gigantic pill. Some people can’t swallow them, they get caught in my throat. All in all it was a good experience.

The doctors were very nice. All the medical people were nice. The receptionist who wasn’t a nurse actually was rude. When I didn’t understand something, she thought just saying the same thing over and over would explain it instead of actually listening to my frustrations, stopping saying, “I understand how you feel”, and then trying a different way of explaining what she was saying.

It took the nurse beside her to listen because nurses are great listeners. The nurse then rephrased what she was saying to make it make sense. This was all about billing.

It was not late at night so she shouldn’t have been tired or unable to be an active listener I would’ve given lower stars based on this interaction, but the doctors were kind so I gave them three.

Too bad. They could’ve gotten a four or five perhaps if they retrain their non-medical staff to be active listeners they’ll get higher scores.
