I can't even begin to say how thankful I was for my experience at the ER here.
From check-in to my exit, I was treated so well. Everyone was calm, caring, and tuely helpful with treatment for my emergency in a timely manner. None of us ever wants to have to go into the ER, but I am sure glad that I picked Desert Memorial.
Thanks to all of you. It really seemed that you all love your jobs and care about us.

In juni hier geweest voor mijn vriendin die last had van haar oor. Standaard wordt bloeddruk en hartslag gemeten wat onzin is en onnodig kosten geeft. Ook volgt een hele enquête waar zelfs vragen als geloof en ras wordt gevraagd, ook onzin. Er is hooguit 2 min gekeken door de doctor. Kosten waren 600 dollar. In Nederland zou dit hooguit 20 dollar zijn maar dit is normaal in Amerika. Na betaling zouden we na enkele dagen de rekening kunnen downloaden. Dit lukte niet. Na meerdere mailtjes eindelijk een rekening gekregen. De rekening klopte niet met hetgeen wat betaald was. Vervolgens weer een aantal keer gemaild. De juiste rekening werd niet gestuurd, er kwam enkel een boze reactie terug. De rekening was nodig voor de verzekering. Let op als toerist. Ga niet weg zonder rekening.

I never go to the emergency room only when I know something Is wrong with me. It seems every time you go. It’s like you’re out of fast food drive-through diagnosing everybody with the same thing just to get you out. I ended up going to Eisenhower and got actual treatment. Gave me the actual medicine I needed and determined I had a ruptured cyst not a UTI. Don’t go to emergency room and the girl Cheyenne Front has the worst customer service.

I was pleasantly surprised by this place. Within just 15 minutes, I was able to consult with a doctor and receive the much-needed medication I was desperate for.

Carlos, the exceptional main RN in the ER, is truly a gem. Despite juggling multiple patients, he remained organized, efficient, and empathetic. His genuine concern for the well-being of all his patients is evident. Moreover, he effortlessly injects a delightful touch of humor into every conversation with both patients and colleagues, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

In a remarkable span of 30 minutes or less, many of my symptoms were addressed and alleviated. I am incredibly grateful to the entire staff in the ER, particularly the efficient intake team at the front desk, and of course, Carlos.

I wish no one goes to Emergency Room in any given day of their life. But things happens. Thanks to these try hero and warrior of all patients and their loved ones. This is my third time visiting a ER in California. It is the best experience I could imagine. My kid has virus infection caused breathing difficulties. When we saw him having Asthma like symptoms, we rushed to ER from a not populated area. When we checked in, we saw a room full of patients and many are waiting outside, just like any other ER we’ve been to.

Started from check-in, the gentleman with a calming face and attitude quickly using pulse oximeter to check my kid’s vital. It’s something I haven’t experienced in other locations. It’s small step to make many panic patients to calm down a bit. We waited about one hour to see the doctors and nurses. During the visit, we have interacted with almost all the staffs at the ER room. They are all caring and busy with endless requests from the anxious and exhausted “visitors”. All the examinations, counseling, and treatments we received helped us understand the situation and what to expect. Yes, it’s 3-4 hours total waiting time but that’s the brutal reality for America’s healthcare system. Hospitals are short of doctors and nurses. Many smart and hardworking future doctors before high school will quit their doctor’s dreams because of the insane six-figure annual cost ro attend a medical school.

My son came in last Friday with a high fever (104), sore throat and other cold-like symptoms. He had taken ibuprofen prior to being seen, so when it was taken there, it was 101. What did they do? Gave him Tylenol. No Covid test, no strep throat test, no flu test. How can a medical center not test for a communical disease? Turned out, he had strep throat which Eisenhower Urgent Care tested him for two days later when his symptoms worsened. I want my money back and so should Blue Shield!

A couple of months ago, my daughter was having severe abdominal pain and we came here on a Sunday morning. By the time I came back 45 mins later after dropping her off and going to check out of the hotel - she had been seen, had multiple tests and talked with a female doctor (which she'd requested) who had given a diagnosis and prescription. We were able to get the medication (which incredibly, took longer) and start the treatment that morning. A week later, the doctor called her to follow up. As we're Canadian we had no coverage but the bill was fair and well worth it. Also, had we been in Canada, it likely would've been a few hours before she was even seen and then who knows what? And a follow up call? That's never happened before. Mostly, we want to say a VERY sincere and heartfelt 'THANK YOU' for the treatment she received. You're truly awesome.

I have currently considering going to go to the ER this morning due to chest pain/breathing issues, and thought I should share why if I do need to go I will not go to desert regional ER even though I’m a Palm Springs resident.
In summer 2021, I woke up with intense pain in my side when I took deep breaths and this only got worse into the early afternoon until I felt I had to go to the ER. I emphasized from minute I got there that I dont want pain meds as much as I need to get to the root of the problem. However, I was in so much pain that I would constantly need to get up, put my hands over my head and take slower and shorter breaths to avoid the spike of acute pains so pain medication was warranted for my pain.
Despite a couple of very kind ER nurses who reassured me they would provide something for the pain, I waited at least an hour to two hours trying to be as patient as I could as I watched the nurses walk past me several times until I had to remind them again I never received any pain medication. Once I finally received the pain meds, the dosage of whatever they administered was so mild that I had to repeat this cycle of notifying them I was in excruciating pain and waiting forever for pain relief medication.
I wasn’t there to make any friends, I just wanted to get to the root of the problem because the steadily increasing severity of the pain was indicating something is really wrong. Despite this, everyone in the ER hallway waiting room expressed the same frustration as me having to wait hours before another series of tests/scans were done. The last in the series of tests/scans done for me this morning was the MRI, which revealed I had a pulmonary embolism.
After almost 12 hours spent in the ER, I was literally at the level of frustration that 30 minutes prior to being told the MRI results, I was on the phone telling with my brother I was going to just leave and maybe go to Eisenhower. Desert Regional ER organization and staff was so bad that I was willing to walk out and deal with a pulmonary embolism on my own. On a separate occasion, I told the intake nurse I thought I was having a heart attack (granted I later found out the symptoms were just anxiety/panic induced), and the nurse’s immediate, initial reaction was subtly laughing to herself as she asked me follow up questions.
Simply put, Desert Regional ER has become notorious for their staff’s unprofessionalism and their organization’s lack of quality.
