The Dang Gui Duck is delicious but the whole meal for 2 person is $90+. Very expensive for so little food. I think probably have to come during non peak hours to enjoy some discounts.

My family & I ordered a few dishes, including the HERBAL ROAST DUCK. The overall food quality was ok but pricey though. Service was a thumbs down. Staffs were seen gathering in a group, busy entertaining themselves with jokes, which was most probably the reason for failing to honour the restaurant’s promotion of giving me my National Day DD. Duck blind box with any Herbal Roast Duck purchase! When we were about to leave the restaurant & reminded the staffs about it, instead of feeling apologetic, they still had the cheek to question us if we did purchase the herbal roast duck!? Seriously!? Missing out the free gift was already unacceptable, and they didn’t even know we had paid for the herbal roast duck was unforgivable! It seemed their work there was chit catting and having fun among themselves instead of setting their work priority right!

DXE sets the standards for how restaurants should be, clean, quality food, consistent and with good service. It can be a little expensive but if you dine in during the early bird promo period it becomes really worth it.
The roasted duck and claypot fish head curry are the standout dishes, they are extremely tasty, but most dishes are also really fresh, well seasoned and well prepard. Their chili sauce is also really really good, not too spicy but packs a tangy punch. Overall I would say this place is highly recommended!

Roasted duck with Angelica Herbs was delicious!

Service by Manager Li Ting was great; she was patient to explain the membership deals and attentive to us during our dining time.

Had the lunch set for 2. Portion size was ok. This lunch set is worth the price. The service staffs were friendly too.

My family and I were quite upset with our recent visit at this outlet. To start off, we were not allowed to make a reservation since it was a Friday, so we had to arrive earlier to guarantee a place for our esteemed guests. We were a party of 6 pax.

While we were made to order via the QR code on the table, I was not able to send in our order for the Business Set, hence, I called one of the staff to assist. She went through all the listed options for the set with me, yet the "Send Order" button was still grayed out, so she asked me to reload the page again. At this point, I asked if she could manually key in the order since our guests were waiting, she said "No, you have to order from QR Code one.". So fine, I reloaded the page and went through the options using my mobile with her, and this time, the order was successful. She said to me "There, you see, you must have forgotten to key something just now." I felt that her comment was uncalled for as she was checking the page together with me the first time and could not find out what the error was, but yet she made it sound as if it was all my fault. She was very impatient with me the whole time and I felt like a liability to her although as consumers, we were actually paying her her hourly wages.

Next, during payment, I asked her if complimentary tea was served with the Business Set, she told me to add it into the order myself. She also told me not to make payment first because it will be very troublesome (等下我们很麻烦) to consolidate the order for them. Judging from the way she spoke, as a patron, I felt that I was obligated to make things easy for her. Apparently, she was very thoughtless too. If she had asked me "你们要来点茶水吗?记得要输入进去哦。” during the ordering process, I would have gladly complied. The fact that I had to find out from her myself and yet be commanded to do something by her so her life would be easier, made me feel that this wait staff is seriously inattentive and super entitled. Not knowing what sort of error their digital POS will run into next, I did not heed her advice and just keyed my credit card details on the spot. I ordered the beverages in a separate order.

The food came all at once and whilst it was nice to be able to tuck in, it felt it was done so that they could chase us off. At one point, there was not enough space on the table. We were seated at a noisy and cramped corner of the place while 3 of their VIP rooms remained vacant. We did not mind paying $50-60/pax as my parents wanted to have a good meal while catching up and have a good conversation with our guests but yet we had to talk loudly over children with bad table manners at the surrounding tables.

Although my parents enjoyed the food, the service level and environment made the experience an extremely bad one. This outlet was understaffed and even when we wanted a hot water refill for our tea, I had to raise my hands up for 5 minutes without anyone noticing. My dad was cool about it and jokingly called out "小二啊!” twice before anyone would notice us.

If you want to be shabbily treated, pls come here. My parents didn't want to travel to town and just wanted to have a good meal in our neighborhood. Otherwise, I'd recommend that you take your money elsewhere, there are plenty of good Chinese roast places like Peach Blossoms, Asia Grand or Wah Lok that would make your money worth it.

They gave us a really distasteful toy as a token for spending above a certain limit. I'd rather they keep it, move us to the VIP room/ a quieter area or just serve us complimentary tea.

To be fair to the rest of the staff, it's just our luck that the rude staff got assigned to our table. Based on initial interactions, the other wait staff were polite. The food spoke for the kitchen staff. Everything was well seasoned and the cod fish was marvelously fried with a crisp, fragrant skin.

To the management of Dian Xiao Er, don't be a joke, don't charge for service and then ask the customer to "add yourself, key in yourself." It takes just a little bit of initiative and attentiveness.

The place was crowded on a public holiday weekend. This place is famous for their herbal duck and their standard probably dropped a bit compared to last time. Salted egg lotus root was pretty good, not that salty, though their eggplant was quite salty. Overall it was a decent meal. Will come back just for their herbal duck.

Probably one of the best roasted ducks in town. Cozy environment, always packed so get ready to queue. However people usually don’t linger much after meals so queue moves relatively fast, especially if only 2 pax. Great selection of other dishes and absolutely love the seafood fried rice. Affordable and good standards of food. They are well staffed , waiting time after order is fast, and it’s easy to get the waitresses attention and they are always checking if your order is ready. Definitely recommend the duck.
