Been a fan of Dian Xiao Er for years. Food had always been good, regardless of the branch we visited.

This is the first time we are eating at the Great World outlet, and the food was disappointing.

The kailan with lime is typically our favourite. But it tastes bland and doesn't taste like how it tastes at other outlets.

The 十全 duck also tasted very different. Couldn't taste the herbs at all, tho I could see them in a corner.

Probably won't come back to this outlet again, which is sad because it's close to home.

Went there with my partner to enjoy the 22% promotion with someone birthday with a number 2 in it (Which is me), as this store is newly opened.

There are some negative reviews due to the long wait and inexperienced staff, but for us we didn’t encounter such issues. Although we had a 30mins wait, the queue was obvious and well marshaled by the staff, and we could pre order the food first, so by the time we sat down at our table, the orders already went to the kitchen.

Food: We got the duck (Dian Xiao Er speciality) which was again no regrets. We made a mistake of ordering the same sauce dish for noodles and tofu 🙊

Don’t let those bad reviews put you off. Saw some bad comments about the service staff, and yes some are admittedly young and the team is new, but their attitudes are generally good while being hardworking and pleasant.

This being a chain, the food is consistent and the menu has several local comfort dishes which make it an easy choice for days when you and your partner just can’t agree on where to go for a simple meal. We particularly enjoyed the roast duck and the pork stomach soup. The soup was one of the best in town by our standards.

Pricing is reasonable. Again don’t let the bad reviews put you off. I think anyone who complains about the price here just hasn’t faced the reality of inflation we’ve had in Singapore post Covid. That or they just don’t eat out often. This chain also periodically has promotions and gives out coupons so you can get good deals quite often.

It’s a decent place. The food is good for the price. And the staff do their best. 5 stars overall if you manage your expectations for a casual place.

Food is pretty standard. But service is terrible!!! They deployed inexperienced staffs for the opening of the new restaurant with ongoing 22% promotion and totally could not manage.

We got there at 630pm on Monday. Big crowd outside. We checked with the man managing the queue how long is the wait. He said 15-20min. We thought not too bad. We can walk around a bit. Went back 15min later, he said another 10-15min and we could actually check the queue status online. We checked and to our horror there are 13 groups ahead of us with estimated wait time of 10min. Seriously? We have our doubt but since we already wasted 20min waiting, just continue to wait then. It’s 720pm when our turn is called, a 50min wait instead of the estimated 15-20min.

We placed our order and the duck came almost immediately. But after we are done with the duck, the tofu and vegetables still not served. We asked and to our horror, they missed our order!!! They said they will place the order immediately and cut the q order. The tofu was served within 5min. They obviously stole someone’s order and gave it to us. 10 min later, they tried to serve us another tofu. We told them it’s already served and asked where is our vegetables? They said they will check. 15min later we still didn’t get our veg. Told them to cancel the order if it’s still not ready. Then only they brought out the veg 5 min later.

It’s a total mess of non stop waiting all night which totally ruin the experience. The waiter did apologise for the mess up. But whole night didn’t see and didn’t know who is the manager.

An amazing dining experience. The Crab Roe Bee Hoon was the highlight – silky vermicelli packed with wok hei and a thick sauce that’s indulgent yet light. The Fragrant Celery Sauce Steamed Fish was tender and refreshing. The CNY Yu Sheng was a lively, energetic affair, bringing positivity and huat vibes! Service is consistently excellent – friendly, upbeat, and attentive. Highly recommend for a satisfying meal!

Service disoriented. Food below average except for Herbal duck and Crab roe bee hoon. The place is like fish market, not comfortable with glaring windows cos lack of curtain to compensate the noise. Forgot to put in our Crab roe bee hoon order, so need to resubmit the order.
