With all the reviews I was hesitant to bring my son here. But after 5 hrs with the emergency staff I feel the reviews are subpar and inaccurate. My son and I just left the er. It's Friday the 13th. My son broke his arm. The staff there were quick kind and patient. Caroline was our nurse and shaded the charge nurse. They were an effect team that got my son taken care of and made me feel confident they were going to take care of him. Dr. K, the tall guy with he infectious smile. He was knowledgeable and made my son feel safe. Just like Caroline and shades did. My son said they made him feel safe and that they were gonna fix him. The xray tech hunter and his crew were also friendly and kind. They tried their hardest to make sure my son was comfy and that they weren't hurting him during x-rays. When it came to setting my son's arm there was a respiratory nurse there named saldor that walked me through every step of what they were doing. I was one nervous mom. He and another young man who was making my son's cast were very patient. The whole staff talked to my son and reassured him and answered all his questions. This staff on the night of 9/13/24 830p to 130a was absolutely amazing. I appreciate the extra mile they took for my son. It's like they remember why they wanted to be drs in the first place. To help. And they did. I hope they read this cause I can't thank them enough

Talk about being slow, this ER is soooooo slow. They take forever to do anything. They don’t communicate well and you have to follow up with the nurse multiple times to get any response. Plan on being there all day and night if you go to the ER. You can go to Martin County hospital and get in and out, but never at Midland Memorial Hospital!

They refused to take my son back. Tried to Force him to stand up when they saw he had a head injury. My son is 4. Horrific experience. We had to leave and take him somewhere that actually cared. He had a concussion. They had No empathy and threatened to kick my husband out. My son had a huge knot on his head of course we are going to panic!!! Never again. They need to get new staff.

My girlfriend’s son hit his head, his eyes were dilated and he was acting unusual. we wanted to verify that he did not have a concussion and she is still waiting in a near vacant lobby for over 2 hours. You guys need to hire front desk employees with manners because good god there is no reason to be rude and rolling your eyes at people that are concerned for their children’s health. I can’t believe people choose to work in such a personal workforce with such little care for people. Get a different job.

I took my brother In to the ER around midnight for come chest pains and swelling, he was checked in and seen quickly. The staff was nice, but Lauren the nurse was excellent!! Her bedside manner is the best we’ve ever came across. She made us feel comfortable, safe, made us feel heard and seen… the ways she spoke to us was soothing. Ty!

My husband was brought here after having a seizure by ambulance. The doctor on shift visited with us quickly. He was very short and to the point, not necessarily friendly but nice enough. They did run a bunch of tests, a ct, and an ekg (hence the two stars). The main reason I’m not rating this emergency department higher is because it’s dirty. There was used needles, tubing, wrappers and what not on the counters. There was blood on the bathroom floor and on the toilet. The first nurse we had kept rolling her eyes at the other patient next to my husband. The second nurse we got went over the test results with us since we hadn’t seen the doctor again. After a few hours the doctor came and told us to go home. No other information was provided. We’ll go here again if we have to, but it is definitely not a quality emergency department.

9/21/22 We took my 7yr old daughter to the ER because she was crying of severe headaches. We checked her in and waited in the lobby. We noticed people that came in after us get treated and discharged. We waited for 5 hours without being seen and ended up leaving. Do better

I was sent to this ER by my neurologist. I have seizures and had one when I was with him. He called the ER and talked to the physician assigned who told him I could get straight in.
The receptionists were nice and the triage was quick, however they were unaware of the phone call made by my doctor and I was told to wait in the lobby.
The lobby was filthy! Had this been a restaurant, I would have left immediately and called the health department.
While waiting four hours (yes, I understand triage), people were brought in, treated and released. However, I witnessed a walk-in, covered in blood, from his head to his waist. After his triage, he was sent into the lobby with no bandages and was still bleeding! Was there even a call for housekeeping to clean up bloodborne pathogens? No....
One patient was brought in and the family members walked in and out of the back area as if they worked there. (No security. Again, how about stopping the spread of diseases?l)
After my 4th hour, I asked the new receptionists (shift change) about how long I would need to wait. I was told the facility was out of beds. In addition, the doctor my neurologist had spoken to earlier had probably left so anything that was requested wouldn't have been transferred to the incoming doctor. When asked of a possible time, I was told, hopefully by the next morning. (Really? It was already 10:30pm, I had been their since 6:30pm. Should a wait time be 12 hours?)
After that refreshing ray of news, I left.
I wasn't seen by anyone beyond triage.
I received no care for my situation.
I will probably be billed for having my vitals taken.
The ER had the audacity to send me a text asking how great I was treated, 24 hours after my check in. It didn't get a positive answer.

Is this really the best care a person can receive?
If there is a next time, I will tell the doctor no. I would rather die at home, alone and in pain before I go to this emergency room again.
