This hospital is the biggest joke. My good friend went there for Chemo. Most of the time he was there they would never tell him what was going on and would never contact family members for him. One night I was there he was like a fish out of water gasping for air. The next day they finally had him hooked up with oxygen when they moved him to a room and again didn't tell anybody about. When my wife went in to check on him she couldn't find him at first. Of course we thought the worse then found out they moved him. Next he was supposed to get a Chemo treatment the next day there at the hospital then we get a phone call to pick him up he was being released. Well we asked what about his treatment and they said they had it scheduled the next day elsewhere for him to go to but didn't tell him the time for the appointment and to call in first thing in the morning. When he called this morning they never made the appointment for him. Very pissed off with this hospital. I think I'd rather die than let these idiots touch me.

Hands down improvement at Frederick Health, especially in labor and delivery area. Had my first child two years ago and recently my second. The first experience was great and the second was fantastic. Should put to the RN’s, assistants, food service and custodial staff. Labor itself takes a toll and the recovery process is also a lot. They made more than an effort to ensure I was comfortable, received the care needed and get plenty of rest!
Thank you ladies!

Worst hospital I've ever been to.
I've been in a kidney stone crisis for 4 hours and I haven't been seen. The employees don't want to know anything and aren't interested. If you want to go through pain and be misunderstood, then this is the place to go.
This was the third time I've come here and it's perfect for sitting and spending hours doing nothing because they don't care about you, Come watch TV here and you'll have time.

I repeat: THE WORST HOSPITAL in the world.

Went to the ER and it was packed with people. Despite this the staff was helpful and friendly, doing the best they can in an overcrowded hospital.
Very long wait time due to the sheer volume of people there. The staff was kind, polite and helpful even when dealing with very rude people.
My only issue is that I told them I was short of breath and in excruciating back pain, I waiting for approx
11 hours in the ER until I guess they realized my oxygen levels were getting dangerously low, and at that time I was given a room and finally a stretcher in an ER room, put on oxygen and diagnostic test were finally ran revealing the fact that I had really bad pneumonia in both my lungs and was admitted to the hospital for 2 days.
I should have been given diagnostic tests earlier than I was, the hospital is over crowded but that’s a medical
Infrastructure issue that needs to be addressed by the city. The hospital staff is doing the best they can in less than ideal circumstances.

My brother was transported here last year for seizures. He was not given a head CT and his conditions were not good. He left the er due to an extreme amount of wait time and had more seizures on his walk home (he lived close by). Needless to say, he was lost on his way home due to confusion and lack of coordination. He was found several hours later with brain damage likely due to his seizures. He passed away at John's Hopkins. Let me just say- the amount of gross negligence and carelessness is excruciatingly disgusting. You have triage staff being members of their own peanut gallery when they should be helping patients. It is their sole responsibility to look after everyone that walks in the door- regardless of how minor or major the injuries are. Gettysburg hospital does a fantastic job, would put this hospital to complete shame with the amount of common sense they have. They can have a full er and still get people in, cared for and out. Don't make it sound so hard, it's really simple. You need to ask yourselves why you're short staffed. Maybe the management/director of staffing doesn't have leadership skills whatsoever.

Was taken back to triage immediately after arrival. From there it was downhill. Waited for 3 hours to never be seen by anyone.

UPDATE: received a phone call from a nurse the day after waiting 3 hours in the waiting room without being seen. They apologized and said that if I have any of the symptoms I was having again, it is an emergency and I should seek emergency care. Helpful.

I’d recommend seeking out emergency care literally anywhere else if you have the option.

I recently went in for a procedure that I would need to stay overnight for. Everything was good at first including check-in, recovery and even when I got to my room. The original nurse and I think it was the nurses helper, were nice and then it slowly started to go downhill as the evening/night went on. Mind you, I never received anything to eat that evening so that meant I was starting my second evening without eating anything. The night nurse/helper (I do have their names) were rude, not attentive and they couldn’t care less about taking care of you. When the night nurse gave me my meds in my IV, she almost blew my vein, not once but twice . It hurt pretty dang bad. I told her it hurt and she said she had to do it that way and I said umm no you don’t! You are the only one who has hurt me so badly. She didn’t have much to say and then she just left. I had a choice of which hospital to go to and I definitely made the wrong choice! I will NOT ever make that mistake again.

Worst ER experience of my life and 3 times in
a row. I am DONE with this hospital and ER. Went there after 30 days of pneumonia, was in excruciating pain, screaming and crying. They ran a bunch of tests and then said they can’t see anything wrong with me and told me I had to stand up to be discharged, forced me to stand up while I was bawling. The young guy who brought me the wheel chair to leave expected me to bend over to pick up my shoes when I couldn’t move. I kicked him out of my room and asked for someone else, he had th worst bedside manor EVER and continued to talk telling me he didn’t mean to be snarky. They discharged me even when I told them something was wrong. I am a social worker and have a high pain tolerance. 12 hours later I went to urgent care where I got better care for pain but now 3 days later, I am going to drive to Loudln County, VA to their ER because my stomach is swollen and I am literally terrified of bad side effects from not getting treatment. WORST ER EVER! DO NOT GO THERE! I waited for hours and hours to be treated like I made this illness up in my head and the head nurse was so rude. I hate that hospital, incompetent, uncaring and the worst bedside manor EVER!!!!!

Go up
