World class medical facility & a great experience! I have to say I didn't expect to have a little fun learning something in the ED. Michael was really awesome. He didn't make me feel like an idiot for coming in. You could tell he loves his work. He swiftly addressed all of my suspicions about my condition. He showed me the ultrasound machine that he brought to my room & explained what we were looking at on the screen. That was pretty cool!
Thanks So Much,
-Don

I had a very bad experience. I was in a really bad car accident and was flight for life there for emergency surgery. The staff was really rude and unprofessional and wrote drunk dickhead on my chart. I was not drunk. I had a broken hip and they insisted I was wrong. My surgery was supposed to be that night seeing it was an emergency but I didn't get it for three days. I was very disappointed. There's a lot more to the experience but I will hold back. This place is terrible

I was seen immediately on arrival to Swedish Med Center ER about 6 pm November 8. I came in after learning from my doctor's office of elevated kidney markers, shown by lab results they had just received. Staff was helpful, kind, and thorough as they collected vitals and performed an ultrasound on my right leg. By 9 pm I was moved to a small room with bed, where I was kept during the night and into the following midday. Other than the bed being very uncomfortable, and no pillow available, staff presence and response was minimal, and I was relieved when a hospital room was available and I was moved upstairs for four more days..

The doc was great. The tech who ran the EKG left all the sticky things on skin and never remived them. The tech who put in the device for the IV used the big vein at the junction of the elbow. Since I had the IV drip for three days, every time I moved my arm (especially while trying to sleep at night), the alarm would go off and a nurse needed to come in and reset. This happened multiple times at night until a nurse at the hospital reset the IV location to a proper location on the arm. Please let tech know IV placement should be on arm do patient can move

"I received a series of rabies vaccinations at Swedish Medical Center after being exposed to a bat, as it was the only facility available for initial treatment. The total bill was an outrageous $22,292.01. Despite reaching out to customer service twice (May 25 and June 25, 2022) for a cost breakdown, I only received a response after my second request. Given the urgency of rabies treatment, the charges felt excessive and predatory. I just finished paying the bill on February 2, 2025, and I’m sharing this review so others can explore alternative options before seeking care at a facility that takes advantage of patients in vulnerable situations."

I was very satisfied except for the transfer to another room. Upon arrival I was processed very quickly. Loved that aspect.
However, there was no overnight room available after the testing and evaluation so the family had to stay in the cramped ER room overnight with me.

The nurses who checked me in were super rude I sat in the waiting room for an hour and a half with a chronic disease that I’ve been to the hospital several times four when I asked him to take out the IV. They told me I was rude and proceeded to be very rude to me. Usually, I’ve had a great experience at this hospital. This was one of the worst.

For the most part the staff in the Swedish ER were nice, but quite inattentive; unless I pushed the call button. My BP was extremely high during my visit, and since the nurse would start the BP machine and then just walk out, it would register my high numbers, and would start beeping. It was beeping constantly. And, the staff seemed annoyed with me pushing the call button, so, I finally started getting out of the bed and turning the alarm off myself. I was having a lot of head, neck, and ear pain, but nothing was really resolved. The nurse claimed to have given me a mild muscle relaxer and ibuprofen through injection, but it seemed that she gave me a placebo because the generic ibuprofen I was taking at home worked better than what they claimed to have given me in the ER. The Dr seemed quite anxious to discharge me with my BP at 215 (higher than when I arrived). I also had a CT scan but was not told the results until I asked about them. I was treated incompetent, but, am far from that. The Dr. told me to continue to take my BP medication and seek further medical tests- like an MRI. I mentioned that I was a long distance from my regular Dr’s…so why they wouldn’t just do those tests there to be sure that everything was ok is beyond me. In my experience, the staff seemed mostly bothered. Also, the restrooms were extremely unsanitary. Although, I’m not a regular visitor of the ER, I would think in a hospital setting, that cleanliness would be a priority. Perhaps people just don’t care…
