Here’s my itemized charges from an ER visit in May for food poisoning. No HIPAA information posted here. I was in the ER for 2 hours.

Just an FYI, you only have 90 days to pay your bill until it goes to collections. If you have a high deductible (like me), this is along the lines of what you’re stuck with.
Don’t expect politeness when talking to anyone in the finance department either, even just trying to get answers about payment plans I was met with rudeness the entire time.
I wish so badly this was not our only emergency department or at least that they’d make it more affordable for people who actually live here year round.

I went in for really bad abdominal pain in my right side that wouldn’t go away, even with over the counter NSAID’s (ibuprofen). I was there an hour before the nurses even tried to get an IV started. I say ‘tried’ because they didn’t. I do admit, I have famously hard veins to stick, they’re small and deep but when they do what I say and poke where I tell them to poke, it’s just fine. I said that they want heat before they even start looking, and I pointed out a couple of veins that they’ve had success with in the past, including one in my AC. I pointed out a few veins that looked good but they’ve never had success with. I’ve been in the hospital a lot, I’ve had a lot of bloodwork and IV’s run, I know what my body needs to make sure they can get an IV. They didn’t use heat, they didn’t try the veins I said were successful in the past. They said that the ultrasound would show the veins and went right for the veins that I said didn’t work, they tried three times, got the blood work done, and then they gave up for the IV. I had a CT without contrast instead of with, and an ultrasound. I had to get morphine and toradol shots, which hurt like hell, because they “couldn’t” get the IV started. 6 hours later, they discharged me with “pelvic pain” and a prescription for 600 mg of ibuprofen. The nurse said that my ultrasound was good, there was no free fluid, and I’m good to go, but if I was her daughter, she would take me to have a port put in, like I’m gonna do that for the, at most, few times a year I go to the hospital. Y'all, I have the intermountain app, I was reading the test results as they were telling me that nothing was wrong. There was a bit of free fluid, multiple follicles in my ovaries, and I have a retroverted uterus. I went to the 5 minute clinic and had them explain my test results and they had concluded that I had a burst follicle a day or two earlier and my body was taking care of it. I would give zero stars if I could, I wouldn’t have even gone if I wasn’t in so much pain.

We had to visit the ER two times due to a Kidney stone. One of the three doctors was bad. One was excellent. One was absolutely terrible.

This IHC location did not enforce their mask mandate which was appreciated. The nurses and techs were hit or miss. Some were awesome and some were very rude. Probably since we did not wear masks.

Overall we feel we received good care.

We found Revere Health to be much better in general. We would only return to this location if it was the only option due to drive time. We worked with Revere on removing the kidney stone. Dr. Armstrong down in Provo is an amazing Urologist if you ever need one. Stay away from the folks at IHC Park City. Terrible people there.

I’ve been in this ER twice in the past four months. Once after a bike accident and again with a severe eye infection. The physicians, nurses and other medical professionals who attended to my care have been exceptional in both their medical expertise and compassion. I’m very pleased that it is so easy to access such high quality medical care in Heber Valley.

If you would like to receive less than sub-par care from extremely jaded ER doctors, who will basically just shrug their shoulders at anything short of a bullet wound, this is the place!
You'll be treated less than human, have zero communication, have every concern immediately dismissed before even completing your sentence, medical negligence that any emergency medicine doctor would deem negligent, misdiagnoses (or lack there of) and the best part?! When you start to professionally inquire about why certain tests were not done, labs not obtained etc, and the doctor feels threatened by their lack of quality care they will just get smart with you before hang up on you (;
It so honestly so disappointing to know that patients are treated this way every single day.

My son was put in the emergency room unexpectedly after his Dr. Appointment. He had spiked a terrifying fever of 105 that rised up to 107.6 . In that moment he had his very first IV. He has a lot of sensory, and anxiety. The entire staff was absolutely amazing with him. The patience that they had With him was outstanding. Let’s be honest the patience they had with me was outstanding lol! I am just greatful to every member involved in our experience . My son is doing much better and we will be back due to raising boys I’m sure 😉

Do not waste your time even stopping here. Do yourself a favor and drive the extra miles to a mountain star facility if you can make it! IHC has no caring or compassionate caregivers left in their emergency departments.
