I was mistreated as a patient who was held against her will at this hospital and now that I'm hearing the news about a higher up who was removed because they were on cocaine, I am disturbed and disappointed that my time, energy and money was wasted at this facility. I was treated really poorly while at this hospital and then later billed after having to miss work and not being fed for a long period of time. I was given medication without my permission and I was also denied access to a phone until I was finally able to get to one. Between UTHealth and this hospital, you're better off going to the doctor in the country or the suburbs in hopes to be charged less and treated with a little bit more fairness and dignity. Thanks.

I will never come to a Methodist Hospital again. The ER is so disorganized and they have patients lined along different hallways. Nurses and doctors are discussing patients’ issues out loud in front of everyone. The doctors never came to assess my wound but try to misdiagnose me and send me home. I refused to leave without an MRI and had to wait in a chair in a random hallway and the “hand” doctor never came to see me.

Sister went into the E.R. 4yrs ago this July. They found out she had stage IV uterus cancer.
They wouldnt start treatment on her; stating it was too advanced, but also she had no health insurance.
Instead they offered her husband a solution of a merciful killing, or death with dignity where they intravenously shut her down to even collapsing her lungs; by causing cardiac arrest to bring her to an end.
Anyone who has experienced a good outcome from methodist; happy for you.
You didnt become a statistic.

Our visit to the Methodist ER was very disappointing. Our previous experience at the general hospital was so much better which is what we expected to receive at the ER but we were wrong
Early on the staff was relatively friendly, but once we got moved to some sort of room, which was just a chair with a curtain as a divider it all went downhill
The ER doctor clearly had too much on his plate, and got in the way of his ability to provide adequate care
As I explained some of my problems and health issues, the doctor sat and listened with a strange expression, almost a condescending smirk that was certainly unprofessional. The smirk remained even as he told me the hospital was a safe place for me, which only gave me a weird vibe from the whole place. The same expression occurred as he spoke to my father who was very concerned, in fact I think the doctor may have found my father’s accent as something funny. This doctor made me feel very bad about myself and my self image, and since then it is a little harder to try to seek help from health professionals when I need it. I have no anger against the doctor but I believe there should be more doctors to lessen the amount of work so they can provide better care. It’s clear that the amount of work has affected the man mentally and he’s no longer able to feel empathy to patients and it will become harder for him to be rational in his profession. Unfortunately I don’t recall the doctors name but he was an Asian man.

The culture of the nurses here is disgusting. Honestly the way they treat their travel nurses and patients is toxic as hell all while putting the patients' well-being to the side. It's also pretty obvious to the patients on the unprofessional of the staff here. no wonder they are always short staff if this is how they treat their help. don't recommend, it's high school.

Staff was friendly and very attentive, just some minor details of the room that they need to update and clean.
Parking and Valet parking always busy.

Once checked in had to stay in a chair in the hallway in the way of people walking by constantly and patients being moved. Constant feel of being in the way. Did Covid test while in the hall which makes no sense because someone would have already infected so many people before it was even found out. The hallway nurse I had was very nice and informative. Finally got to go to a more suitable waiting area to wait for a bed to be available for admission. never had a nurse come say hi or saw a dr again for an update. There was a “celebrity” also in the ER that did get a lot of visits from different nurses and multiple visits from drs. As a fellow healthcare worker this appalled me because no other patient was getting that treatment. I have taken care of multiple “celebrity status” patients and treated them the same as any other patient. The counter also had other patients lab work just sitting on the counter which is a HIPPA violation. Once I wanted an update I had to ask a nurse to ask my update and was told they had to find my nurse whoever that was. Turns out he was very rude and acted like I was bothering him. The only thing I would say was nice is that late in the evening they do bring you a tray of food.
