I am compelled to give an honest review.
Recently had a visit at 4:30am for my 5 year old son who had severe stomach pain, was seen by Dr Libby, who showed no compassion or care,

I know it’s an emergency room and there was no knife stcking out of my son’s head but please show some compassion.

It doesn’t cost anything to say something simple as “hope you feel better” before leaving the room.

I am giving two stars instead of one out of respect for the people who work overnight to provide service.

But please, reflect on why you are in healthcare.

Never going back to Huntington Hospital.

the fact that the staff is on their phones, cracking jokes and giving each other high fives was crazy to me. I had a family member with an very deep open wound waiting for 8hrs plus to be seen to get some medicine was crazy to me. I'm guessing they bill you by the amount of time you spend here or I'm not sure what's really going on but this is outrageous. not to mention how poorly they were handling the elderly people. very unprofessional.

I came in 1/24/25 due to the Flu because I couldn’t control the symptoms after 6 days, I was short of breath and just not feeling well at all. When I arrived I pulled up right in from of the ER and did Valet for my vehicle($13). That was great.
As soon as you enter security checks you, you registered in and they do your vitals within 10 minutes. After maybe 45 minutes you get called in a doctor comes in and asks what your symptoms are and technically she/he gives you a blue little Form with the Exams that they request to get done. Which can be for ex: Lab work, IV for CT Scan, or X-Ray etc. which is great right buuuutt from here on unless your having a heart attack you will STAY IN THE HALL WAY THE WHOLE TIME! They have you go back and forth to different hall ways to get the procedures done. After you are done with all the Exams you get sent out again to the Lobby to top it off. Which to them is to get everyone in but in reality it’s a Mess. And not comfortable at all when you are ill, So after being sent out to the Lobby You get called in within like 35 minutes to go SIT IN THE HALL WAY IN A PLASTIC CHAIR, where a nurse comes and takes care of you and gives you medication for whatever your pain is. THAT IS YOUR ROOM THE HALL WAY. Blows my mind.
The care was great as for the nurses actually being nice. The Doctors where okay it seemed like they where just giving everyone the same process which is fine because you actually get these exams done, But this whole new set up they have is not okay especially when you are giving medication that makes you drowsy you can’t even nap to feel better… all this took form 11:30am-6:30pm
And I was sent home with a prescription.
The End. Feel Better God Bless.

I have been in this ER twice in one week at Hungtingon Hospital in Pasadena due to a kidney stone. The first wait was about 7 hours and the second time also around 7-8 hours. Of course there is not much to be done if they are that busy. But what really made the wait unbearable were the chairs. After about an hour I wanted to get up but couldn't because of my kidney stone pain but the chairs became so excruciatingly uncomfortable that I wanted to lie on the floor. And I am 72 years old so lying on the floor in a public place is not my usual way of resolving issues. The chairs really need to be replaced and more personnel hired to bring the wait time to 3 hours instead of 8 may resolve some issues!! Once admitted to the hospital things went very smoothly. The nurses were helpful, the bed was very comfortable and I thought the food was not bad at all. The doctors I saw were also nice and seemed competent.

Nurses use phrases like:
" our wait hours are long"
"It is what it is"or " the doctor can not see everyone".Hire more doctors.
Waited for 9 hours with chest pain, dizziness, and nausea. Extremely poor service. Not enough trash cans and uncomfortable chairs. The staff is on their phones and extremely arrogant.

I was going to give this place a 5 star but after tonight’s non service this administration staff is the biggest group of incompetent people ever. I am standing here bleeding from an open wound hole in my leg as I cannot sit and I have been here for 5 and a half hours. Now they are telling me people who came after me came before me and will be seen first because clearly a fever and a stomach ache are more important than an open wound. Whoever runs the emergency room needs to be fired. It’s called an EMERGENCY ROOM , not sit and wait 8 hours and pray you don’t die room. From what I was told is that the staff in the back don't like the reception staff because of how they don't know how to do their job and have to deal with the backlash created by the staff in the front. Clearly their incompetence has created an uncomfortable working environment and it needs to be addressed by a competent supervisor.

Update about a month after this visit. ONCE I was seen I walked past the doors roughly around 8:45 and got to see a doctor who ended up helping me and was released about 30 minutes after. I walked in around 12 A.M and wasn't seen till 8:45am. While I was back there I noticed after being told by the reception staff that there were no beds that in fact there were tons of beds.

The disgusting incompetence, lack of empathy, and disorganization at this place is downright horrific. I came in for trouble breathing and waited 7 hours to get a room. An hour later, their paramedic put my IV in incorrectly and proceeded to leave it in for another 5 hours. When I go to get a cat scan, the contrast leaked all into my arm. Nurses and paramedics went back and forth on whether to remove the IV after that point and it took over half an hour to get treatment for the contrast infiltration. All the while, I’m STILL struggling to breathe and now worried about potential blood clots and additional damage to my body. This place would sooner kill you than help you.

I struggle with anxiety and was absolutely lost when I arrived to meet a prospective client. A lovely woman offered to escort me to where I needed to go. Family of the prospective client escorted me back to the entrance. The payment machine would not take my card. One of the men at valet escorted me to a few machines. None of them worked and I had no cash. He directed me to the exit. And a lovely woman was already assisting, explaining systems were down. Although I don't know everyone's name. They were all my angels. And I thank all of you from the bottom of my heart. This review should be for the general hospital.
