This was our first visit to the new Intermountain Health Lutheran hospital. My husband and I live about 10 minutes away in Golden, and were so glad that we came here. The facility is new (August 2024), clean, and contemporary. I feel as though the front desk and check-in staff are still working out the kinks, but the surgeons and anesthesiologist that were assigned to my husband’s surgery, were the epitome of professionalism and care.

Highly recommend:
👩🏻‍⚕️Rebecca Wiebe (consulting surgeon)
🧑🏻‍⚕️Robert Madayag (attending surgeon)
👩🏼‍⚕️Madison Smith (anesthesiologist)

I have a chronic condition which requires the occasional trip to the ER…My most recent trip I decided to try the new Lutheran. Turns out, they’d only been open for three days! So this review is a bit belated…

You would think under such conditions the staff might be disorganized but this was certainly not the case. I had a few repeated nurses but for the most part different folks and they all seemed very knowledgeable and confident. The facilities were wonderful and the team, caring and compassionate. I ended up spending 6 days there and was very impressed by the experience!

In the past nurses have jokingly told me, “nice meeting you but I hope to never see you again.” Nudging at my getting better. After this visit it was nice to turn to the staff and say, “well unfortunately, I’ll be back…but hopefully not anytime soon!”

Thanks again Lutheran!
You guys ROCK!!

My husband was taken by ambulance to the ER at the new Lutheran after experiencing two seizures 30 min. apart. I won't waste time here writing about all the little details of went wrong after he arrived there. I just have to say that I have never in my life witnessed such rude and bad behavior from the staff in the ER. He arrived sometime around 10 pm. I was not allowed back to his room until about 11 pm where I found him tied to his bed. I stood in the hallway for an hour waiting for a nurse to appear and help me understand what was going on. I tried flagging people to help me but was totally ignored by every staff member walking by me. When the nurse finally arrived, he found me trying to untie him from the bed and yelled at me, "Stop doing that!" (He later apologized for yelling at me). We were told at 3 am that he would be admitted for observation. We were told again at 6 am that he would be admitted to a room. At 7 am we were told they were waiting for a shift change. He was not admitted to a room until 9 am the following morning. Every time I tried to stop a staff person in the ER to ask when we would be moved, they told me they would go find out what was going on but never came back to me to report. I realize that the ER is probably very short staffed due to the newness of the hospital. I don't think this is an excuse to treat people the way we were treated in the ER and to be just left for hours with no one following up with what we were told they were going to do for him and to just communicate to us some sort of progress. I do not recommend using their ER for the next couple of years if you can help it, I know we won't.

We were incredibly impressed with the ER staff when mom arrived by ambulance, unresponsive, in late October. She spent nearly two weeks on the neuro/stroke floor, undergoing numerous tests.

Throughout her stay, the care she received from her nurses, CNAs, physical and occupational therapists, and patient care specialists was exceptional. Even the woman who cleaned her room daily showed kindness and compassion.

The doctors see many patients and have to decide quickly patients treatments and future. Some delivered news with more tact than others. Her first Doctor was exceptional. He prayed with us and allowed us time to ask questions and even came back later in the day just to check on her. Several others seemed rushed or delivered bad news with little compassion. A chaplain was required after one specific Doctors' visit.

The hospital is beautuful, clean and has options for food choices. Employees accommodated any situation we encountered. The gift shop had unique items and were reasonable. I never had to park far and the views are of Colorado's gorgeous mountains almost everywhere.

We hope that we won't need additional care but if we do, I know mom's well being, comfort, modesty and special circumstances would again be addressed here.

First, I've never seen such a new building so dirty. There were things in the floors in our room from (guessing) previous patients and things like screws from the construction maybe.

The night staff was much nicer and more informative than the day staff.

*Edit: I did speak to the patient advocates team. They were responsive, nice and listened to my concerns. Sadly they can't fix what we experienced so I won't be changing my rating nor will we go back.

Will never refer anyone here. The care my dad received was a joke. Communication from the doctors was almost nonexistent; it was like pulling teeth to get them to call with updates. The first nurse to see him refused him pain medication for the fracture in his back because she self declared him an alcoholic (not the case my any means) and said he was lying about his pain. One of the other nurses took an incorrect temperature when he was very clearly running a fever; the nurse that came in behind her did it correctly and sure enough, fever. The doctors couldn't give us any sort of straight diagnosis. No one showed him how to order food until I was there and asked (2 days of being there); thankfully my siblings had been bringing him meals. The water pressure wasn't even enough to wash the toothpaste off of his toothbrush. The floor in the shower is a HUGE fall risk due to how slick it is - dad asked about it and the nurse said "that's why I have these towels".
We were excited to have a Lutheran in the area again, but this one wasn't worth the time and money spent putting it up.

The worst hospital in Denver and surrounding area, very rude staff, Especially night shift, they do not check on you like other hospitals if you needed anything, if you call the nurse light asking for help, it takes them forever to show up in my past experience with them. They are Masters of ignoring the patients and you could hear them setting talking and laughing loudly across the hallway with each other, when they come to you if you are lucky after 1 hour of requesting help they have this awful attitude with sharp tone in their voice.
when you try to ask for help or something they get annoyed and start making faces to the point that made me think they were trained to be that way.
it was unbelievable ugly experience, I never seen any hospital treat their patient like that in my life, their service sucks big time. I asked to be discharged because they made me feel so bad and it did have an impact on my health.
I will never ever ever ever go back there.

I wish I could rate the ER higher because of the nursing staff, but unfortunately Dr. Flynn ruined that. Stay far away. Very aggressive and argumentative for no reason. There’s a reason he was sued back in 2016… surprised it hasn’t happened again since but I’m sure it will again in the future. If you get this doctor, he will not allow you to speak to any other doctors even when you ask for a second opinion. He also will provide you with misinformation. Don’t be scared to do your own research if he tells you something you aren’t sure about. Dr. Flynn deserves a 0 star rating, but the nursing staff deceives 10+ stars. Not sure how they deal with his attitude but someone needs to get this man away from patients or at least train him to be more compassionate and have a better bedside manner. I’m still disgusted.
