I’m an ER/ICU nurse at Cedars-Sinai, and have been a nurse for 10 years. I’ve worked as a nurse across the US, and Australia. I came to this ER after my mother in law broke her wrist in Yosemite. I was so impressed by every staff member I came into contact with: Registration, Nurses, ER Techs, Transport, Physicians, everyone was extremely kind, conscientious, and exceptionally attentive to detail.

Translator services are readily available and consistently used, people take the time to explain what’s happening and go through each option available. Communication is excellent.

I am so grateful that this hospital was available for us. We also realized after our experience that their orthopedic surgeons are the official medical team for the US Olympic Ski and Snowboarding team — what better recommendation could there be for anyone concerned about an injury?

Thank you so much for caring for us!

This hospital is amazing! I’ve always been scared of hospitals and tried to avoid them at all costs but when I found myself in severe pain due to an injured tooth in the middle of the night I had no choice but to go to seek help. The amazing staff took great care of me, and the emergency doctor (I forgot his name unfortunately) was so very kind, empathetic, and extremely helpful. They were able to help soothe my pain until it was a reasonable hour for me to call dentists. The doctor even gave me one of the numbing shots a dentist would give you before a procedure which gave me great relief. My dentist was pleasantly surprised that a doctor had given me that shot (she said they usually don’t) the doctor even set me up with antibiotics before hand which was great considering my dentist did find an infection so I was already one step ahead. The staff in the emergency room truly seem to care about their patients and they deserve all the recognition for their hard work. They’re amazing !

The team from ER Mammoth Lakes saved my 1-year-old son's life. He couldn't breathe, and when we arrived at the ER, his oxygen level was extremely low. They intubated him and stabilized him for transfer to Stanford, which they fully arranged for us. It was the best teamwork I have ever seen, and I will always be thankful to them.

They allowed us to always be with our son and kept giving us updates very often. They also supported us in this difficult moment, which means a lot to me!

I hope no one has to visit the ER but if you do, this was the best experience one can have in an ER- friendly, knowledgeable, fast, and incredibly attentive staff. Doctor B. was amazing and so was the nursing staff. The paramedics even came in twice to check on us. So caring and nice!

I went to the Mammoth Lakes Hospital ER last early Sunday evening due to a suspected infection that got worse over the previous couple of days. The whole process from check in to discharge was seamless. The staff were fantastic! I was nervous at first, however, the staff that checked me in and did the initial work up were very nice and calming. Dr Shedd (the ER physician) saw me within the first 15 minutes and immediately put me at ease. He is a great communicator and quickly determined what my condition was. After running some in-house tests, he prescribed an antibiotic that would treat this particular infection. The ER nurse followed up with specific instructions on what liquids to take and when I should start to feel better. I was in and out within 30-45 minutes! They were correct, I started to feel better within 48 hours. They basically salvaged my 2 week vacation in Mammoth Lakes. Dr Shedd and his staff are fantastic and I highly recommend the Mammoth Lakes Hospital ER if you need urgent or emergency care while in Mammoth Lakes.

My boyfriend came in with severe flu symptoms and was diagnosed with flu at this hospital. They didn’t give him anything to help him to alleviate the symptoms and make him feel better. He left without any medication or anything. I called the nurse that works for Dr.Ho or Holden and she was so condescending and wouldn’t let me talk!
