Outstanding experience! I went in for day surgery but then needed to spend one night in the hospital. Every staff member was friendly, kind, supportive and helpful. The hospital is clean, bright, modern. Even though they had to awaken me every few hours for vitals, it wasn’t a jarring experience. And wow - the hospital meals are actually GOOD. Tasty and healthy. If I could give the hospital higher than five stars, I would.

Don't go to this location if it's an emergency. My daughter suffered a traumatic accident. Upon arrival there were NO staff at the desk for at least 5 minutes. I knocked on the door and was greeted by an unconcerned paramedic. He nonchalantly told us to come back. We sat in the room, my dtr crying in pain for 30-40min without any intervention. I could hear the staff outside my door laughing and talking. I stepped out and asked about an ETA and was told they were busy and they proceeded to continue their conversations. The urgency and empathy was not there. I drove my child to Children Medical Center Plano and what a difference, I'm glad I made that decision they went into action immediately. By the way, I'm a nurse and I know what competent patient care looks like.

Honestly, they were really slow when I and a couple of others arrived to the point I almost left! I was called nearly an hour and a half after checking in. Immediately I was given an apology and explanation. There was only person working the triage and she was doing the very best of her capabilities! After getting placed into a room everything moved quickly. The staff from the bedside nurse, the on call physician, the transporter, all the staff members are extremely helpful. They were humble, patient, knowledgeable, and clearly operated as a team! The care was EXCEPTIONAL honestly never experienced anything like. To the staff members you guys are AWESOME, and I appreciate your care and the sincerity when taking care of me and my needs at the time! The time spent was waiting was definitely worth it! Thank you all for making me feel better both physically and emotionally. Blessings!

I was out-of-area, so I had to find an emergency room to go to as per my insurance. I searched google and found this one with good ratings, so I went there and was not disappointed. The ER waiting area was super-clean and was not crowded. I was processed quickly, efficiently, and professionally. If you get to choose your ER, choose this one.

If I could give negative stars, I would!! I gave this ER a second chance just praying my first experience was just because of the circumstances BUT NO!! Both times was with the same provider, Dr Rosalia Mbugua...she has ZERO patient bed side manner and I have NO IDEA how she even has a MD degree!!!! My first experience was few months ago with my daughter and after waiting for 2hrs...she came storming in the room with the door wide open yelling that she had a patient dying and she was not going to be able to see us and we would need to go to another hospital!! First of all, what doctor runs down the hallways yelling she has a patient dying? Why are you NOT in the room saving his life Secondly, its a ER, no patient should be turned away because they are too busy... I should have reported her then but l told myself, maybe this was her first patient to crash and she was panicking so give the ER another chance. Took my son tonight for cough/wheezing etc. She pulled us back from the lobby since I'm assuming she saw "wheezing" on the sheet and after "listening" to his chest for few seconds...looks at me (like I was crazy) and says he is not wheezing right now. Ok, I am not the MD so that is what I am here for, to make sure my son doesn't have pneumonia (since he is asthmatic and can get ill quickly). Since the nurse pre-swabbed him for flu/covid/strep before we were pulled back, I asked her to go ahead and have a xray done to double check. She rolled her eyes but said ok. About 30min after the xray was done, the nurse comes in and hands me my sons school note and says everything negative and to have a good night. I asked for the doctor to come back in since no diagnosis was given nor a proper examination (never looked in ears/nose or felt throat). She came back in with a horrible attitude and said I was told you didn't get the exam you wanted. I asked her to close the door so I can tell her how disappointed I was with her service and when I refreshed her memory of her outburst from our 1st experience with her, she opened the door and YELLED in the hallway that I need to find another facility and slammed the door!! I have NEVER seen a doctor act like she does and this is very alarming for others!! Please spend a few extra hours waiting in the Methodist ER to have proper care!!

Overall, I had a good experience with this facility. I've been to Medical City Plano, which is a Level 1 Trauma Center and it is awesome! I was there for an emergency with one of my children and they were so quick and well staffed.

That is my comparison to this location since it is a campus of Medical City Plano. With that, here are my grievances:
1) They were quite slow at times. We were there for 5 hours and it took them almost 4 hours to get an X-Ray done. Compared to the Plano site, we arrived and within minutes, my son was already getting X-rayed

2) The communication was lacking when we waited on "the next step." For example, they switched out physician-on-duty during our visit. We arrived a little after 5:30pm but around 8:30, after waiting to hear what was going to happen, a new physician came in and introduced herself and said she was replacing the other doctor. It could have been a shift change but someone could have communicated that to us. We waited for an hour.

3) The front receptionist could smile more 😊 My comment could be subjective but I am in the business of customer service and that young lady could be a little more friendly. It doesn't cost much but if I noticed it, I can guarantee that others did too.

The things that stood out that were great were:
1) The staff did come in to splint my son's elbow were efficient and communicative. They explained what they were going to do and what they were doing. The 3 were informative.

2) The lady that collected our information and gave us the paperwork at the end was very friendly and informative.

3) Their DC process was quicky and easy. Once the splint team was done, the DC was done in 10 minutes.

I noticed these things because I work in the Healthcare industry also. However, I focus on the customer side so these are things they could improve upon. My 5-star rating is because at the end, I still had a positive experience.

Male triage nurse constantly made jokes about me being sick as I was struggling to breathe in the er. I nearly passed out just from walking and he was too busy trying to be funny. I will never come back to this hospital just due to this man..... As an immunocompromised patient that had a severe case of flu, a little bit of care would have been nice. This man infuriated both myself and my wife to the point that we're contemplating moving this issue further up the chain.

The team of doctors, nurses and respiratory therapists were wonderful. They treated my symptoms, got my O2 back up to normal, gave me a presription and observed me for over 2 hours. The hospital was exceptional in the handling of my case.
