Would give negative stars if I could. I've had good Dr's from here however, Amarachi Akujobi is horrible!!!! Ive had her a few times and never left feeling cared for. I went for a kidney stone she took a cat scan I told her I dont have coverage for a specialist so i would need to try to pass it on my own. She gave me a few pain meds and I went on my way. Four days later I ran out of meds. The pain got crazy so headed back to the er and same dr was there. I thought that was good but...no. She was visibly angry that I was back. The nurse was trying to get an iv going and she stopped her and asked everyone to clear the room. She said she did not want to scan me again but it couldn't still be the stone cause it should have passed. Maybe it was a uti. She then ordered medication I had already taken a few hours prior. I asked the nurse about it she went to go ask the dr and came back in the room and snatched up all the meds and walked out of the room. I asked to see another dr because I was in pain and didn't have the energy to deal with whatever her problem was. She said there's no one but her. So I gathered my things and calmly left. When I received my post visit notes she wrote that I had drug seeking behavior and lied in her report to justify. A few days later went to a different hospital where I was treated for the pain and an infection and admitted for surgery BECAUSE THE KIDNEY STONE WAS BLOCKING! I was relieved to be treated with respect and actually have Dr's who cared!

I was there for 7 hours, which is a pretty long time, but staff were all pretty great and I left with answers! Mavis deserves a medal 🎖️🩷 I wish there was a little more explanation of what was happening sometimes, but I think that’s hard when it’s so so busy. Dr. Fowler and Brooklyn at the check-in were great too, and I think her name was Marci? Who registered me. Thank you guys!!! You’re doing such a great job 🥰
Editing to say: there was another nurse (I think) who had a silvery blonde bob, I didn’t catch her name, but she was awesome too!!

I usually go to Methodist Hospital; However, I had a severe injury, and EMS had brought me to this hospital. Bad choice. I had seriously hurt my ankle and all they did was to wrap it up. The 'Dr' gave me a prescription for Tylenol three. Three days later, I'd used my better judgment and called EMS again due to the pain worsening. This time, I Made sure to advise them to take me to Methodist. Come to find out, I had a severe ankle break that required immediate surgery. Never again will I go to Memorial. My previous experiences were bad, but this had taken a cake. Never again.

Incompetent front ER staff. Three ‘guards’ came to the front desk, sat around and laughed with the ladies at the desk for at least an hour. What a joke. I hope the hospital records these people. I wouldn’t hire them, especially the security. They were having a party while all the sick waiting people watched. I almost recorded them laughing and enjoying themselves, however they did have real guns.

To make things worse they told my daughter there’s only one nurse in ER and no beds available. Seriously think about driving straight past this hospital and go to Methodist.

First of all, nobody likes emergency room experience. But the long wait is the symptom of US healthcare system. nurses and doctors are victims too. I can feel they tried their best to help us and make things going as fast as possible.

Edited to add: They conducted an “investigation” and deemed it “medically appropriate” to send a 10 month old who just had a 20 minute seizure home immediately without running a single test. So, that should tell you what kind of care to expect. The system for reporting and accountability is severely flawed if they truly felt comfortable putting that down on paper.

Baby girl came via ambulance for a seizure lasting longer than 20 minutes. Pedi ER doctor sent us home rather quickly saying it’s normal. No tests (though I requested them twice) were performed. We were back the very same day for the same thing and luckily another doctor was on shift. He assured us that is NOT normal, and we were even transferred to another hospital that could better handle our situation. Thank GOD for this doctor. Within hours of getting to the next hospital, baby went into another seizure that the staff could not stop and then into respiratory failure. A team of doctors and neurologists assured me there is nothing normal about a 20+ minute seizure especially in a 10 month old baby. She was admitted for days, every test ran in the book, and is now on seizure medications.

I am filing a formal complaint against the first doctor. This is egregious! I will never bring any of my children back here (which is sad because the second doctor was amazing, but I cannot risk getting the first doctor ever again).

i had to make a late night trip to Memorial Hermann Katy ER yesterday for suspected food poisoning. I received outstanding and compassionate care from Dr. Kirkpatrick, the attending nurse and the X-ray technician. Thank you so much for taking such good care of me.
