Unfortunately, I had a situation that caused me to go to the ER. Luckily, I went to Memorial West ER. I had the most amazing nurses helping me. The ER was jam packed with patients but I never had to wait. My nurses and doctors were on top of me and my care the entire time I was there. Unfortunately I was admitted but they ensured that I had a room and the excellent care continued. I highly recommend Memorial West because there is just something special about the staff. Everyone is truly kind and they go out of their way for you.

I gotta say, ended up here early September with a dislocated shoulder, this place sucks. Sat there with a dislocated shoulder for 30 minutes before anyone with anything to say saw me. Lady immediately tried to set it without any warning, announcement, or permission. I get it, she tried to make it quick and painless but definitely wasn’t. However won’t hold it against her for trying that way.

It took SO LONG to get drugs. Sitting there for an hour with my arm out of its socket in agonizing pain and the staff responsible for getting drugs was nowhere to be found. The nurses the whole time all you hear is “where is this guy” “where is blah blah blah”. After the first dose of fent they gave me wore off it took 45 minutes for their request for more to get to me.

Absolute clown show in there. My arm was out of its socket unnecessarily for probably almost 2 hours. Just a mess overall, people nowhere to be found, waiting on disorganization. Didn’t even get my arm bandaged, just got put in a cheap sling. Had so much blood in the sling when it came time to remove that I had to peel the sling off of me.

All of this and they have the audacity to bill my insurance 8.8 grand lol. 8.8 grand for what? Letting me sit there for 2 hours with my arm hanging out of place in agony while you guys get yourself together.

Should just let the ambulance guys take care of business in these cases, sucks they are legally not allowed. I could have avoided this disastrous money grab all together

Nurses were angels however I will not speak ill of them. Everything else about the ER is a joke and you’ll walk out with a life changing bill for bad service

My insurance was billed an additional 6 grand for this treatment. So 14 grand total. What a joke

I was at ER on 9/26/24 to 9/27/24 and the medical staff on that graveyard shift treated me with such care by listening to my medical concerns and the pain I was in. They treated me like I mattered: Doctors: Ryan S., nurses: Brittany, Debbie, registration: Nicole and many other nice 😊 people I encountered throughout the 7 hours I was there, even providing heated blankets while I waited in a cold 🥶 ER room for test results to ensure I was comfortable. I thoroughly recommend this hospital to anyone needing medical treatment! 🙌 ✅ 👍 ❤️‍🩹 🧑‍⚕️ 👩‍⚕️

How the hell do you call it a pediatric ER when you’re making a six-year-old with a 103+ fever, vomiting, and crying, wait in line behind multiple ambulatory geriatric patients? They should have been on the left side adult ER, not in peds delaying care for children.

Currently here on a 6 hour wait while awaiting an MRI. Doctor and nurse talked to us at the beginning and haven’t even bothered coming by to see how I am doing. Bedside manners are beyond bad. This place has become a shadow of what it used to be.

I don't ever expect good service when going to the emergency room, especially when i used to work for one, however this ER has their stuff together! Everyone on staff displays such a professional and also Pleasant attitude! Everyone! Even towards each other! I didn't have anything life threatening so i was expecting to be here for quite some time. I was put in a separate waiting chair within 20 minutes after arriving, another 20 minutes to have an MD see me with wonderful Bedside manners , x-rays ordered and taken within 30. 3hr in and I'm being discharged with a referral and meds. This was a really great experience for coming to the ER.

Came in with severe abdominal pain, haven’t eaten in 3 days, dehydrated and they made me wait over 7 hours in an ER. Meanwhile every pregnant woman that walked through the door was seen first. Every time I asked for an update every one was rude and not responsive. I’d rather risk passing away at home than come back here

My aunt was transferred to Memorial Hospital West's emergency department via EMS on 6/13/2024, after experiencing a tonic-clonic seizure with loss of consciousness and facial trauma at home. She was accompanied by her brother and sister to the ED, but they were escorted out by security and police shortly after arrival, for reasons that are unclear to me as I was not present at the time. When my spouse and I arrived later, my aunt was still recovering from the seizure and was drowsy, complaining of severe dizziness and lower abdominal pain. She also expressed the need to urinate but was unable to do so effectively despite wearing a PureWick (external female catheter), with only 20 mL of urine collected.

I explained the function of the external catheter to my aunt and tried to help her urinate, but she was in pain and unable to pass urine. We attempted to contact a nurse, but there was a delay of about 20 minutes before anyone responded to the call light. When a nurse named Carlos finally entered the room, he immediately asked, "What's the problem?" without introducing himself or inquiring about our concerns. I expressed worry about my aunt's abdominal pain and inability to urinate effectively.

Carlos reassured me that the external catheter was in place and urine had been collected earlier for a tox screen. However, my concern was that since my arrival, my aunt had not produced any urine despite her discomfort, suggesting possible urinary retention. I disclosed that I work in the medical field and requested a bladder scan or consideration for a straight catheter or Foley catheter insertion.

Carlos responded defensively, stating they do not insert Foley catheters in the ER and implying that I should know better as a medical provider. When I requested to speak with a doctor, Carlos abruptly left the room and returned to inform us that we needed to leave immediately due to a "red alert" in my aunt's chart. He called hospital police to escort us out, citing this alert, although he did not provide further explanation.

Outside the hospital, we spoke with a sympathetic security officer who informed us that they had not been informed of any issues regarding us, contradicting Carlos's actions. We filed a formal complaint (police report number available). Meanwhile, my aunt remains alone in the ER, and as the only family proficient in English and able to advocate for her, we have been barred from doing so.

Furthermore, my aunt has not received appropriate medical attention, including IV fluids, despite presenting with a seizure possibly related to alcohol intoxication and potential complications like lactic acidosis and dehydration. The behavior displayed by this nurse was rude, unempathetic, and wholly unacceptable. I intend to escalate this matter further.

During my brief time in the hospital, I observed staff at the nurses' station engaged in non-work related conversations, and noticed a man in a white coat outside my aunt's room who did not interact with us despite the unfolding situation. If this was her doctor, it was unprofessional of him not to discuss her care with us.
