We unfortunately had the worst experience ever at an ER at Unity Hospital this week. I fell on the stairs seriously injuring my ankle. Since it was too late to go to urgent care, we decided to go to the ER. Our experience was terrible. The doctor came to look at my foot before I was triaged and thought it was dislocated. He was about to pop it back into place when he decided to get an X-Ray instead first (it ended up not being dislocated). While waiting for the X-Ray we went through the triage process. The staff was very rude. I was under so much stress and shock that I was near passing out and my muscles got so tense I could not physically open my hands or relax my arms. It was incredibly painful on top of my ankle injury. The nurse or tech helping, told me to relax and kept scolding me for not doing so. I tried to explain that I could not. She just kept telling me to and finally came over and straightened my arm herself for the blood pressure reading. Afterwards, we went and got the X-Rays done and everything was moving in a fairly timely manner at this point. After the X-Ray, they brought me back to the lobby. I was not transferred to a room. I started to struggle again with nearly fainting and I really wanted to lay down. My ankle was in severe pain still and I was having to try to prop it up on a chair in the lobby, while also trying my best not to fall out of the chair since I was so dizzy. My husband asked the people at the desk if I could lay down somewhere. They told him no and that they were going to discharge me soon. We waited for nearly an hour after the X-Ray (in the lobby the whole time). After a while, some techs came over with a boot and crutches and told me to go home. I never spoke to the doctor about what was wrong. When we inquired about talking to the doctor, the techs seemed to be annoyed. They left and said they would get the doctor to talk to him. We did eventually get to speak to him and he proceeded to tell me what he thought was wrong and sent me home. I was surprised he did not recommend a follow up with a more knowledgeable doctor since he did not really seem to know much about my injury. Terrible experience and we will never come back here.

The care I received from walking in the door to being discharged was excellent.
Everything was throughly explained as I was being treated. They all took the time to listen and spring into action.
Thank you, I really felt your teamwork and kindness.

The staff to a person were friendly, experienced and helpful. The testing was thorough and, after reviewing the notes from previous doctors, the doctor was able to change my meds and explain the problem and its treatment. Excellent service

Waited 4-5hours after being told 30 mins max for my minor daughter to be seen once results came in and it turned into 5
Hours, only to be told not serious and to go home could have taken 5 minutes to explained that. Everyone before us and after bunch of people after us where scene and sent home, no actual assistance as my youngest just cried and kept asking how much longer and nurses just stared at us but everyone else was literally seen before us while we waited and waited. Horrible night as well take the trip else where or wait it out and go to urgent care in the morning unless you are truly dying, which even then might not be caught right away.

This place is SO unprofessional: all the staff from checking in to registration to triage nurse looked like they had no previous experience and that they didn't even know what was going on. I understand being short staff but the way they talked was unprofessional. I had one lady at registration tell me if I wanted to cancel and leave the hospital then talk to the Check in people .. she was on her phone while talking to me. The whole environment and first time experience there was disappointing. I left the emergency room with my 2 month old , which I was in there because of my 2 month.. i wouldn't go to this place, find another ER.

Came in at 11:30 at night for cramps in my lower abdomen that were shooting up to my left ribs. I usually know what stomach aches feel like as a 20 year old with Ibs and this was Not a “ tummy” ache ( as doctors Phillips put it) I was there until 2 am and they gave me lidocaine and a anti acid and when I told them the cramping was still very bad they discharged me with more anti acids while only running a blood test ( she stated that there weren’t very many test for the stomach) as someone that has been in for a stomach ache before I knew that wasn’t true, but 4 hours in the Er check in 3 times and got told that what I was feeling was normal and told me to go back to work today. I woke up feeling as awful as I did when I got there so going back to work wasn’t an option and i didn’t get a proper diagnosis to get the proper paperwork to follow it up.

Scott 10/10 though so amazing and very sweet! Happy that he was the one taking my blood for the blood test.

Rebecca was my nurse and she was so nice. Made me feel comfortable. Dr Bailey saw me and she ran lots of tests which will help me with my health journey. Thank you for a “nice” hospital visit. I put nice in quotations because I don’t like going to the hospital.

I’m here. At Fridley. With infections/septic. It’s very concerning that my room was never cleaned as of Sunday at 5:00.
I cleaned it. Some of the nurses were excellent.
I asked the fire department and EMTs if I should go to United St Paul or Fridley. I chose fridley for the easier access of not being downtown St Paul.
I’m pretty scared right now as all my tests have come back but I don’t know if I’m on the right antibiotic still. I get the culture takes a day but I’m pretty sick with chills and fever.
I worked with Peter King with a 501c for United to get it up and running. I live in a community amongst a lot doctors, Pharmaists and specialists.
My Insurance covers Allina. So I’m limited. I was at the Mayo Clinic in Jan. For over a month And had the most incredible service.
I have no idea what is going on with Allina but when you read some of my Community Web pages, they don’t talk very highly anymore. I write a local paper and really wanted to give fridley a great review response and wanted to make this my go to hospital.
Mercy is way overcrowded so I’m shocked that Allina doesn’t improve Fridley.
I have pictures of gloves on the floor. A needle left behind. I’m a fall factor and I have been walking to the shower by myself. Etc etc.
I’m listening to employees say the don’t want to work. I understand it’s the weekend but come on….
I’m not sure if I should ask for a transfer. I’m feeling guilty for asking for water.
Last night a nurse had to change out my IV and her eyes kept rolling. I felt so bad.
Not sure what to do.
