COME HERE IF YOU WANT TO DIE!!!

My 1 year old has been here for 5 hours, and counting, for a perforated tympanic membrane and no one has come to the room in 4 hours. Over 4 hours ago, we were told the ENT doctor was on the way. The doctor has yet to show. My 1 year old had displayed signs of discomfort, and possibly pain, but this facility does not care. I went to the front desk several times to inquire about ETA of the doctor and no one seems to be able to give an answer. One person said the doctor might be performing a surgery. Is there only one ENT in this hellhole? The healthcare system continues to decline in this country and it’s quite unfortunate. This place needs to be leveled and the doctors, re-evaluated. A resident came in when we first arrived, followed by her attending, and there was lack of compassion for the situation. They even suggested that something was wrong with my daughter because she has an outie bellybutton (which runs in my family). No issues, abdominal wall is intact, as confirmed by a scan, no pain… completely ignoring the issue we came here for. This place is absolutely appalling. I’m sure we’re going to get a bill for thousands of dollars for having to wait here for most of the day with no actual care. This is ridiculous. If you value your life, stay away from here. They simply do not care. I’m going to take my daughter to NYU so she can get the care she needs.

I visited the ED/ER after fracturing my clavicle and was promptly attended to. I was given pain relief while X-rays and other necessary procedures were being set up.

Upon check-in, my wife was initially told she couldn't accompany me in the ED. However, after seeing how much pain I was in, the ED staff kindly allowed her to be with me, which I deeply appreciated.

The nurses and PAs were consistently attentive, informative, and professional throughout my visit. A special thanks to Jordan, the PA who took great care of me.

After reviewing the X-rays, the orthopedic surgeon decided to wait a week before determining if surgery was necessary. This is the main reason I can't give a full 5-star rating. While I understand that I'm not a surgeon, I saw other doctors in the following days who were shocked by the X-rays. My collarbone was in three pieces, and I believe surgery should have been performed that night.

Ultimately, I had the surgery at another facility a full day before the hospital's doctors even agreed to see me or schedule an appointment. While this was disappointing, I am still grateful for the care I received.

The doctor’s are not sincere at all. Worst hospital and worst doctors n nurses I have ever seen to this NYC .Behavior is too rough and tough. I heard earlier they were good but now they are the worst

I have admitted there today and after admitting just one doctor came and nurse took urine and they suspected kidney stones and said need images to confirm . After that nobody came to look into the patient and i was waiting 5 hrs but no doctors or nurses came to see…
Patient will be more sick instead of feeling better

My daughter came to the emergency room at 10:30 a.m with pressure in her head, muscle spasms, chest pain and a swollen leg. They left her sitting in a chair for more than 7 hours. She explained over and over about how many cat scans she had over the last 4 months and requested an MRI because she didn't want anymore radiation. She was told that would take a couple of days. Meanwhile someone else came in with similar symptoms and was given an MRI. She was discharged without telling her what were causing these symptoms. This hospital was one of the best before and sadly their concern and well being for the patients has diminished greatly. I will be reporting them to the state in hopes that future patients will receive the quality and care of service they deserve. No one should be treated like they don't matter

I had excruciating pain on my right side shooting down into my bladder. My husband thought that maybe my appendix had ruptured so we went to NYP Cornell ER after having a bad experience at Mount Sinai ER on the west side a few years back. I would like to express my profound gratitude to the incredible ER staff at NYP Cornell for the treatment that we received while there. Intake was swift and we only waited 15-20 minutes to be taken back into the ER. I was placed on a very comfortable mobile bed where the staff immediately gave me a pillow and a warm blanket. A hospital staff member named Prince came over and gave me an IV and my first dose of pain medications as I was crying and in horrendous pain. Every time I needed more pain meds he came over and hooked me up with what I needed. The patient care staff kept coming around and checking on us and offering to switch out my blanket for a new, fresh warm one which was much appreciated. The staff that night were all incredibly kind and caring, especially given the vast patient scene they were dealing with while I was there writhing in pain passing a kidney stone. I kept thanking everyone for being so kind to us throughout our stay. Special shout out to Dr. Rahul Sharma, Dr. Tina Matthew and Dr. Ahmad Saleh for the excellent care they provided to me throughout my medical incident. They deserve the recognition for all they do for the patients that they care for. The gentleman that took me back for my CT scan was lovely, positive and upbeat, I believe a woman named Irene did my CT scan, she too was lovely. We were well taken care of and I really appreciate you and the work that you do. Thank you for helping me and for your kindness and compassion. Given that I had a kidney stone, it was understandable that I was lower in priority than some of the other more emergent need patients (strokes, car accidents, etc.) although we had an 11 hour stint at NYP Cornell ER, we were well taken care of throughout and I almost didn’t even mind the duration of the stay because we were so well accommodated while there with pain meds, blankets, etc. My only feedback would be to offer water to patients (we brought our own though so it wasn’t a big deal) and perhaps snacks where applicable and clinically appropriate. As the staff turned over in the morning and we were ready to leave, we had to ask to be released a little faster before the next tide of patient and staff turnover which they were receptive to but it did take a minute. THANK YOU NYP Cornell ER staff for all that you do for your patients.

I don’t recommend coming to this ER. Our child was very sick and running high fevers and the doctor did not feel it warranted any blood work. We went home and came back a few days later because his symptoms worsened. We saw a different doctor who finally agreed to do blood work which should have been done in the first visit.

We arrived in the emergency room around 6 PM and the doctor didn’t order the blood work until 10 PM and did not order the scans that were required until 11:30 PM. We were discharged almost 8 hours after we arrived.

While I understand that these rooms get busy and these doctors are working long hours, I would avoid coming here in the future. The doctors and nurses are slow and do not care about their patients. No one is managing the patients and we felt ignored. One of the nurses was extremely rude. They are checking the boxes and have zero care or sympathy about how long you’re waiting and how much pain your child is in.

We are exhausted. I wish I read these other reviews before we came. Unfortunately, there’s not that many options in NYC and I don’t think anyone is actually making changes based on feedback or reviews because they know people have limited options in emergency situations and will have to suck it up and deal with poor service and a lack of care and attention. This hospital is poorly managed and inefficient. Whoever is in charge is clearly not there.

We are grateful to live in a country where we have access to emergency medical care but we will be searching for better care providers.

I accompanied my wife at 11pm
Was told I cannot go in with her,had to leave
The person at the front was extremely rude, and told me to mind my own business and told me to leave, while I was just trying to tell him to have a bit of compassion for people that are waiting for their loved ones
This is unacceptable and I will be writing a letter to the board

Go up
