This is a joke... I've had better service and response times from very small hospitals in rural Alberta that are so severely understaffed that there are literally only maybe 5 people in the whole hospital for extended periods through the night. Said there was only a 4 hour wait time online and my wife cut herself bad enough to need stitches... We've been waiting for over 10 hours and have seen multiple people that came in after us get served and sent on their way. I understand that there are more sever cases but why not quickly stitch up the patient (which a nurse should be able to do) and send them on their way to free up the space in the waiting room. At least the staff is kind and professional for the most part.

Grandson ( 1 yr old) was rushed to emerge dec 28 with severe breathing issues. Staff rushed him to the back and he received excellent care from all the staff

I was brought in a couple weeks ago by ambulance from a motor accident. My leg was severely broken and I have to say that the care I got was amazing. From J.P., the paramedic, to all my nurses that helped me out. Special shout out to Amber who was absolutely amazing and my wife and I are very thankful for her! Thank you Amber! Sure, the wait times for certain things were long but that's not the front line staff's fault. After my time in the ER I was admitted for an Ortho surgery. Again, it took a long time to get my surgery but the front line staff were amazing and deserve the largest kudos. You don't get paid enough for what you do. Raises all around, especially for Amber and J.P.!

I don't usually do reviews but reading most of the negative reviews, I felt that it isn't fair not to talk about good service experience in this ER as well.

I was initially hesitant to wait for 7 hours to see a doctor but triage nurses were great despite how busy they are. Thanks to Robin (if I'm not mistaken) for giving me options and for checking my blood works before I decided to leave. I ended up staying in the ER overnight and didn't wait for 7 hours. I believe that they assess every patient's need to be prioritized. I just trusted them. Didn't demand for anything.

The nurses kept on checking on me, very approachable, I felt bad for not getting the name of the first nurse who took care of me. She's really nice, asked me if I needed anything whenever she went to my room, even brought me water though I didn't ask for it. I was under her care midnight of March 30th. Hope you can read this and know it's you.

With my condition, I ended up being admitted to ER a couple of days after being discharged, and was examined by Dr. Brian who was very sympathetic towards my condition. I was very nervous but he guided me all throughout the process. Thank so much to Dr. Brian, me and my husband noticed how sincerely sorry he was with my condition.

Big thanks to Marga as well for offering her hand for me to squeeze. I said it to her but wanna say it again. They are very awesome at handling their jobs, made everything bearable for me as a patient.

Their job is never easy. They're always busy but they remained calm but not in a way that you'd feel neglected.

Just wanna add that I had my husband and a 4 year old daughter with me the whole time (except when I was being examined), but none of the staff were bothered at my family's presence at all. Even gave my daughter an activity booklet while waiting.

Brought my son in with chest pains and we waited well over 6 hours just to get a chest xray. Really unreal wait times. I’m not from here and anywhere else I’ve gone has never taken this long. Especially for chest pain!!

Sent in by family doctor post op complications. I think the lady in the chair was supposed to greet me. Very rude No hello nothing hand santizer, mask and a purple wrist band with the date. Why? apparently don’t ask questions. I took a chair not because I was directed two other patients were helpful In tears I was wiping my eyes and about to blow my nose when the aggre came and told me “put your mask
on” I asked for a second. He stated “Keep your mask on too wipe your eyes.”
Is this what the Red Deer Hospital is about? Two patients beside me left. As the security guard in the picture explained to knew patients coming in the could be see the nurse and leave. So inappropriate. That is an RN decision. Next is Triage, no one has your name before hand or even why you are there.
Sheila the triage Nurse, absolutely awesome, caring and WOW! Keep her you have a Gem in that Nurse. Registration Clerk careful with demographics and my name.
During my registration process the security guard featured in the picture. Is telling a patient they may need a CT see the triage nurse blah! Blah! Explaining the process is one thing, this is so out of his scope. So Four patients have left now that came in after me because of what this security guard stated to them.

Went in with extreme condition, told I'd get in asap and having to wait 3+ hours in the waiting room. They don't check on you and are rude nurses at the triage. Someone came in after me for a possibly broken knee and left skipping hopping and jumping out of the emergency room totally fine. Yet I have a tumor in my brain, with the onset of extreme conditions that may be linked and I have to wait. This hospital is a joke.
