Last night I had to bring my son to the ER for stomach pain and vomiting. The lady who taken his blood and inserted his IV was awesome she made my son a fort so he wouldn't see the needle and my son who cries every time a needle is inserted did not with her she was gentle and spoke to him of the process and she really put him at ease. Also doctor Fischer was kind and explained what was going on and taken all measures to see where the pain was coming from. Also explained to me his bloodwork results. The staff in the hospital are awesome when we first arrived my son and I were lost because we parked on the other side of the hospital and could not find the children ER but a doctor who was in the hall noticed and walked us all the way to the ER. Thank you Renown.

On August 17th 2024 We had to bring our 7 year old Autistic son here for his Tonsils being swollen really bad. We arrived at maybe around 2 until 8pm that night, but we spent that time in a room instead of the waiting room because they got him on back with maybe a 15min waiting room time. . t Doctor Greg Paloolian and nurses was great! ( I wish I new all their names). This was our son first time ever having an IV, Cat Scan and MRI while being fully woke and they was great with him by keeping him calm and from fussing a lot. He sounded horrible due to his tonsils. By the time we left he sounded so much better afterwards. The Antibiotics and Strong Steroid really helped him. Even though the bill is now over $1,000 and something, it was well worth it! Thank You guys for caring for our son!

For the first time I had a horrible experience in the children’s emergency. Physician/doctor Amy bliss was rude and had an attitude with my babies, she didn’t want to be touched and pushed my sons hands away, she didn’t want them talking over her, and she didn’t want their tablets on.Keep in mind my children’s ages are 3yr, 2yr and 9 months. It was the most uncomfortable time being there

I just want to start by saying we unfortunately had to come in on my sons birthday. Every single staff member we came in contact with was kind, compassionate, thorough and efficient. The nurses brought my boy a brand new soccer ball for his birthday and made sure we both felt extremely comfortable. The doctor was next level amazing. She made me feel heard and allowed me to be included in making a decision on what care was best for my son. I highly recommend this emergency room for your littles they will be in great hands!!

Amazing experience starting with the check in specialist to the triage nurse and ER nurse to seeing the doctor. We were reassured and my son was evaluated thoroughly. We spent about an hour in total and were brought right back after they assessed his injury. This is our second time visiting over the last 5 years and both times have been positive experiences. It’s the only ER I will take my children to.

Mikey was incredible upon check in. I’m so grateful. I waited four hours and unfortunately didn’t have my two month old baby seen because I was still fifth in line after already waiting four hours. These staff members need help, they’re all so wonderful and doing their best. I wish we had multiple facilities for our kids in Reno! Thanks to everyone who helped us during the wait and I believe Charlie was his name and his female work twin brought me water, which I really appreciated, as a breastfeeding mama.

They were kind and considerate throughout the whole process. From beginning at check-in to once we were in the ER getting seen by the nurses and doctor. True, I did have to remind them once that we asked for some water but, it’s an emergency room so no doubt they had other serious things they were caring for. The nurses and Doctor Gassen were all patient and as helpful as they could be as we tried to help our four year old son understand as much as possible what was going on. Used two different bathrooms while we were there and everything I saw seemed very clean. Very thankful that they have this unit and that we didn’t have to wait with him in the area with all the adults at the ER. The waiting area is set up especially for children and there was even a fun game they had there that kept him distracted while we waited to be seen.

I LOVED the ER at Renown Children's! We came in today at 9am and were checked in very fast, when we were taken to the back our nurse was Emily! she was so sweet and kind she made my son feel comfortable she always kept us updated on times and let us know what was going on the whole time we were there! And Dr. Gassen was an AMAZING doctor for my son! he explained what was going on kept me calm and talked me through what was happening and what they were doing to help my son out! i recommend this hospital to EVERYONE! Renown picks the best of the best for their patients and our community! I can't thank Emily and Dr. Gassen enough for how kind they were for my son and I!
