Worst ER visit. No one likes going to the ER. But the staff and amount of time to get processed and cared for is ridiculous The admitting nurse exaggerated the facts that were given to her. Then spoke about things that were irrelevant to the situation. Trying to get my son pain meds took over 2 hours and he was vomiting due to pain. It took 2 hours after a Dr saw him in this stupid tent area and me bitching 3 times to get into a room. Basically every step takes at least 2 hours now we sit here for another hour plus to get results. We can see them in our UCLA app but with an IV in his arm and not knowing what caused this we are trapped. Arrived 5:30 pm. At 12:30 am still here waiting. Do not use this ER.

Waiting area over 5 hours. My sister told them she was at high risk pregnancy and still made her wait over 5 hours. The room is super small & if people are loud, they don’t tell them anything. Just go to UCLA in Santa Monica. They take you in faster.

This place has been such a blessing to our family. Our little lady needs 24/7 care, and they not only make sure our little lady (who has special needs), is comfortable we tag team staying with her and are all. able to rest when she rest and eat well.
I know this may not make sense to some, but if your kid is a frequent flyer to the hospital, knowing they are taken care of and the family is too makes all the difference.
Parking is far too expensive, but that is a small price to pay for great quality care for our Rose Bud!

My partner and I had an absolutely horrible experience here. We came in after two doctors told my partner they immediately had to go in for appendicitis. We waited in the ER for 14 HOURS to get answers. Multiple times, doctors and nurses told us that they would be “running a test soon,” but we had to keep reminding them that we were in fact still waiting. At least 15 patients came in and out of the ER before we did. My partner’s pain kept increasing, I’d go up to a nurse, and they would virtually shrug their shoulders. I understand they need to prioritize immediate medical treatment, but it felt like the majority of the nurses completely lacked empathy. Over the course of 14 hours, we heard many nurses actively gossiping about patients, making fun of them, or laughing about them. It was genuinely shocking to see such unprofessionalism.

After these 14 hours, the doctor finally came up to us and said we were good to go. I asked about my partner’s high white blood cell count, the noticeable swelling in their abdomen, the immense pain they were in. Her response was that she could check again, but it would be “many more hours” until they could do that. This was around 3 AM.

I will say, there were 1-2 nurses who were genuinely caring, apologetic, empathetic, and kind. However, the majority of them made me and my partner extremely uncomfortable.

Overall, I would suggest if you have to go to the ER, refrain from coming here.

I have a medical staff appointment in this place but I took my mother, like any average daughter, to the UCLA ER for severe pelvic pain. I wanted imaging to see if she had a fracture. We waited for 5 hours in a small cubicle made of temporary plastic curtains. One nurse was there and came to document her vitals every two hours so the hospital could properly bill Medicare. We never saw a doctor, no one explained what was going on. When we asked how much longer we had to wait before a doctor at least assessed my mother, we were told all the doctors were busy on the other side of the hospital.
Throughout my residency training, I never saw so much indifference by medical providers esp towards an 85 year old crying in pain.
I was left with a sad decision to just leave and try to arrange for imaging outside of this hospital and care by a private orthopedist. Amazing.

I recently changed my healthcare from Kaiser to UCLA. I was thinking that UCLA would have more doctors in the network to assist in all areas of care... My daughter suffers from paranoia induced manic depression brought on by her father's passing two years ago... My daughter was seen by a doctor at UCLA Fox Hills in Culver City at 10:30 am. Since my daughter was having a manic episode, the doctor instructed us to walk into UCLA emergency. Four hours later, we are still sitting in the main area of the emergency room. A very rude triage nurse practitioner instructed us to move out of the main hospital and to move into the tent for observation purposes. As if we were animals or specimens under a pheasants glass. While in the tent, a woman was moaning and wailing sitting in a wheelchair. No one was tending to her. Two other gentlemen were waiting patiently to be seen. No one was tending to either of them as well... The only person that was being assisted was an elderly white man who had his family waiting with him and assisting him.... I've never experienced such terrible service when going to emergency on a Tuesday morning with barely no one in the main lobby, and only one or two out of 10 were being seen... I pay for private healthcare insurance to get high-end County care through the UCLA emergency unit... My healthcare premiums are too high for my daughter's mental health not to be taken seriously....Avoid UCLAs emergency at all costs. I plan on reporting this to the State of California. This hospital needs to do better. It's the highest and most costly hospital in Southern California. Im paying UCLA to not provide care, and i am paying a portion of my cost at 15,000.00 for this type of "non" service plus a copay. I'm very disappointed... UCLAs gets the highest profile and the most money in this state while they get away with providing no care.

I had a serious stomach issue that i went to urgent care at ucla in Toluca lake and was told I had an obstruction.
I came here had to wait outside in the tents for almost 6 hours while constantly being told that they couldn’t even give me an estimate while they just sat on their phones and didn’t once check my vitals or even check in on me.
Once I finally got taken back to a room, it took almost another 4 hours to get even seen or have anything done while still having an obstruction.
I was furious that they constantly didn’t even care about me. A doctor would say something for a test and it would never get done and just getting a doctor took almost all day even after they admitted me.
I’m lucky that my obstruction wasn’t life threatening and passed but if it was serious I might not have made it out of there.
One star is too generous.
A bloated hospital with overworked staff that have to deal with every major trauma possible but it isn’t an excuse for the negligence that I saw and experienced.
They are lucky they haven’t gotten sued yet by patients who might have suffered due to the wait times or frankly negligent staff.

The WORST hospital experience ever PLEASE do not go here. I almost went deaf because of the ER doctor’s negligence.

After 3 days of worsening hearing loss (at the age of 27) and 2 urgent care doctors advising that I go to the emergency room, I ended up here. I was seen by a medical student, Christian Hernandez, who was one of the rudest, most unprofessional doctors I have ever encountered. I did not receive any care from the ER doctors during my visit. I was treated with complete disrespect and disregard for my health and told by Dr. Hernandez that this was a “non emergent situation”. Not only were there no assessments performed, but Dr. Hernandez walked out on me while I was speaking. I was literally crying and this doctor straight up laughed in my face and refused to give me any information lol…

They didn’t call me for weeks about an ENT appt. Thankfully I got into a Providence doctor asap because this was a condition that needed to be treated within a few days. I would have been fully deaf had I listened to UCLA.

Afterwards, they hit me with a $400 bill for doing literally NOTHING and I went through this whole process to appeal it and they refused to excuse the bill. Genuinely so scarred from this experience and will never be returning to UCLA 🙁
