Day surgery at this hospital is wonderful, I'd been at this hospital a few times for other people and it was a pleasant stay. The emergency department however is the worst experience I've ever gone through. Long wait times and they won't get the right doctor to look at you making your stay even longer. They will also be disorganized and lose your blood typing tests which is concerning for those recovering from surgery and experiencing heavy blood loss.
We arrived at 11:30AM. I asked for a social worker so I could have a compassionate pass for parking because we're low income and instead after hours of waiting a nurse walked me out the doors and pointed at 98St and told me to park there. I asked again if she was a social worker but she didn't answer and left in a hurry.
By the end of our visit I had to slowly help my roommate walk all the way out to 98St because he didn't feel safe waiting at the door after 8PM

If I could put zero Stars I would put nothing I've never been treated so badly by a nurse in my life I went down to this hospital because it had the shortest wait time it said 2 and 1/2 hours never go by the wait times because the one close to me said 8 hours wait time and I'm in so much pain I can't sit in a chair for that long and my head is pounding but I went down to the world because it said I had a two hour wait time well that was not true they had a six and a half hour wait time minimum but I didn't know that before I came so do not father looking at emergency room wait times cuz they are very inaccurate. I went down there because I had a head injury from falling on the cement I got tipped off a scooter the other day and landed with my head bouncing off the sidewalk and I was told by the paramedics to go to the nearest hospital if it got worse so that's the only reason I went down there because it was supposed to be a shorter wait I have never seen what I saw in my life except on Hastings Street in Vancouver this was the worst emergency room I've ever seen and the fact that they were getting treated better than somebody that isn't on drugs I could even sit there like people were it was just awful I can't even explain it I've never seen anything like it in my life I don't think I can never forget it never will I step into that waiting room again what's that hospital and the nurses are horrible every one of them couldn't care less I said doesn't a head injury that's making weird noises when I turn my head my neck is really sore I'm really dizzy I'm really nauseous doesn't that take priority over people that are waiting for methadone or fentanyl or whatever they're there for it's disgusting these people were nodded right off they had to literally shake them to see what their name tag said it was disgusting and I couldn't even see a doctor there I just walked out I couldn't even stand it anymore you get a disease in there those people were coughing and throwing up and it was just awful they were sleeping all over all the chairs on the floors Alberta get your crap together with this Healthcare thing get better nurses at triage that treat people properly and respectfully cuz I'm not one of those and that's what I felt like she was treating me like I was nothing too bad you got to head injury go sit with the junkies that's exactly what she said.tbecause I had had an accident a few days ago and I had to head injury and I was going there because my head was getting really bad and over the last few days I went in there because my neck is making weird noises I figured it would be a priority since it was a head injury I walked in up to the emergency and there was nothing but and I'm not a judgmental person but nothing but homeless junkies lying all the way up into the emergency room the emergency room was full of nothing but drug sick people lying around on the floor moaning whining making noises coughing aching cuz they're drug sick and I went back up to speak to another nurse because when I went in there she said oh you got a long way to head here I go but I've got to head injury and I said look at these people are all passed out they're all they're all nodded off on heroin the whole place was full of drug addicts I swear I was the only normal person in there and police are bringing in people my head's getting worse I went up to the nurse and I said listen is it going to be a long time she goes oh you're way at the bottom of the list I go but isn't a head injury a priority to what these people are doing he's a junkies waking waiting for the methadone and fentanyl they're all nodded off they're all on heroin they're all scratching and itching each other it was just disgusting the nurses are horrible there I just walked? 😔would not sit there any longer I feel like I got to scrub myself since I've been there it was completely disgusting they're shaking people awake because they're nodded right off in OD and here I am sober as a judge trying to get some help with my neck they couldn't care less

If you have to go to ANY Hospital in Edmonton, please DO NOT go to the Royal. I get it! It is an old Hospital! Yet from the urine smell, to the cleanliness of this Hospital. Felt like I was entering a Hospital in a third world country!
I am sure our health care is not this bad!

An asthmatic patient I had.to wait more than 4 hours while being short of breath. It's crazy how one of the health problems that's in.tne top tier the patients has wait for so long. No where else in this country you have to wait that long while fighting for breath.

transferred to the Royal Alex to get an ultrasound of his groin and leg then transferred to emerge to get the results read. Although we did wait two hours it was not too bad. Security staff we’re doing a good job dealing with rowdy people in the ER

Came in at 9:07pm after vomiting about a litre of blood. Extremely fatigued and nauseous.
Assumed internal bleeding. Or other complication.
Was put in the waiting room for nearly 3 hours. At 12:03am After passing out in the waiting room I was awoken by my name being called. A nurse took my blood and put me in a hospital room and told me I was waiting to see the doctor.
Around 1:00am I went to check on the status of the doctor. I was told I was first in line to see him.
At 3:40am I checked in again to see where the doctor was at: no signs of them and no timeline for when he’d be around.
4:10am I wrote this review. I’m still in a hospital bed. Unable to sleep, dry heaving, sore muscles and dehydration from all the puking.

That’s over 7hours now. Estimated wait time on the Ahs website is 4hours 11mins. How am I now over 3 hours past thT and still have not seen a doctor….

Thursday June 13th . One of the guards on today assaulted my girlfriend. Literally grabbed her by the sweater and pulled her up cause she was laying down on the floor ,she told him to stop cause he was hurting her and he didn't care ,than pushed her towards the exit telling her that if he see,s her at the emergency within 1 year that she would get charged for trespassing and would go to jail. She is 5'4" not to intimidating and she was doing nothing wrong ,she wasn't even bothering nobody and who the he'll does this big brute think he is , I'm gonna go get his name tomorrow and will take action to what we can do this guy shouldn't be working in a hospital and should be charged of assaulting a woman ,this idiot thinks cause he's got a badge he can assault and threat sick people ,by the way you big idiot she was having a heart attack when you assaulted her

I gave 2 stars, as MY first nurse was great.
If anyone wants a recording of Dr. Krystyna Zofia Samoraj telling lies, and wasting Alberta taxpayers dollars, just let me know.
