It saddens me to write this but I was discharged from ER with chest pain and stomach pain .i have never been so neglected from a healthcare facility so much in my life. I have access to”my chart” saw a bunch of abnormal lab work and he says everything is fine go home even after the nurses saw this pic below. I saw T Helm today through ER …. avoid at all cost if you value your life. Such a liability to the hospital waiting to happen. So saddened to see what health care has become.
UPDATE : Received a letter from patient relations denying everything. As they said a physical exam was done, when there wasn’t one done. If he did he would have heard I was in respiratory distress as another physician caught this the next day. They choose to cover up all their negligence as I have seen it first hand. Nurses went to inform another doctor and they still neglected to listen that I did not feel well. Nurses were great, but doctors …not so much. Please RECORD and notify them they are being recorded ,Or else it NEVER HAPPENED! Wouldn’t recommend to my worst enemy.

Complaint Regarding Unprofessional Conduct by Staff Member

I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the conduct of a staff member, Liz, during a recent phone call. I was in significant pain and seeking assistance to determine whether I could arrange surgery for a condition that had worsened since my recent treatment.

Unfortunately, Liz’s response to my situation felt unempathetic and dismissive. Despite explaining the severity of my pain and the recommendation for surgery, her exact words and tone were unprofessional and lacked the compassion one would expect from a healthcare provider.

This interaction left me feeling unheard and unsupported during a vulnerable time. It is concerning that patients in pain and seeking help may be met with such a lack of understanding. I urge you to address this matter to ensure that all patients receive respectful and empathetic care when reaching out for assistance.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to someone seeing this and making change but, also want to share to others that they are validated if they come in contact with this person.

I recently had the unfortunate experience of having to go in Saint Agnes emergency room, and I must say that it was an absolute nightmare. From start “12:00 a.m.” to finish 2:30 p.m.” my experience at this hospitals emergency room visit was riddled with incompetence, negligence, and disregard for patient care.
Firstly, the staff at Saint Agnes emergency room displayed a shocking lack of professionalism. Nurses were often rude and dismissive, showing no empathy towards patients. The doctors seemed disinterested and rushed during consultations, barely taking the time to address my concerns. It was evident that patient well-being was not their top priority.
Furthermore, the cleanliness and hygiene standards at this emergency room were appalling. The waiting room was dirty, with visible dust and stains on the furniture and floors. The bathrooms were unsanitary, and it felt like they hadn't been properly cleaned in weeks. This lack of cleanliness only added to my discomfort and made me question the overall safety of this emergency room.
Moreover, the communication within the emergency room was abysmal. Test results took forever to arrive, and even then, nobody bothered to explain them to me in a clear and understandable manner. I felt completely left in the dark about my own health, which only added to my anxiety and frustration.
Overall, I would strongly advise against choosing Saint Agnes ER for your healthcare needs. The lack of professionalism, poor hygiene, communication issues make it clear that patient safety and well-being are not a priority for this institution. It's a shame that such a crucial place for healing and care has fallen so far below acceptable standards.

I went in about 10:00 p.m. and I was done by midnight. I was sure it was going to be longer because there were quite a few people there and even more came after me. And never you never know how many people are having to come in through the ambulance entrance.

From the initials scan to intake to vitals to triage to the care that I got I can find nothing to complain about. They did have people cleaning up all the time in there. Of course it was an emergency room and so there were people vomiting and coughing and hacking and all the different things that people do when they're sick. But the chairs weren't stacked on top of each other.

I gave them my pharmacy information and when I went to check this morning to see when the pharmacy opens I found out the pharmacy would not be open on Sunday. Since I was prescribed an antibiotic and already took one pill given at the emergency room I didn't want to wait another 24 hours. After all, I went to the emergency room because I have a raging sudden infection in my elbow and it needed care. I called the emergency room, someone answered, and he said he was going to pass the prescription change off to the person who was coming next on shift. I checked with the second pharmacy about an hour later and the prescription was filled and I was able to go pick it up.

I took one star away not because of the care or treatment there but just simply because when I arrived on the campus I wasn't sure exactly where to go. I knew where the emergency room was and there were signs but there's also a big tent with a big fan outside the door and the parking was blocked off to some extent and some of it was physician parking but I finally found a parking place and I found my way in.

It feels like it should be a little easier to find out how to get into the emergency room when you're already concerned about an illness. They are probably him strong to some extent simply by the location and the volume of business. But I felt that I would want to make that comment.

My visit to the ER was very long. I arrived around 10pm and didn’t leave the next day until 8am. I met with a lot of people that evening and it was hands down one of the hardest nights of my life considering what I was at the ER for. I remember I was sitting in the waiting room with my husband and there was a sign that had St. Agnes’ mission statement. Although I don’t remember what it was, I distinctly remember it said something to the effect of compassionate or empathetic care. I read that mission statement over and over again that night 1. Because my phone died and 2. Because it was right in front of me.

Although that was a horrible night and I was there for a very long time, I will say 1000% that I was met with both empathetic and compassionate care. I cried multiple times that night both in the waiting room and back in the triage room. Each time I cried, I was given privacy and met with so much care and respect. Two people stood out to me that night. Taylor Barcus, RN And
Harry Nazario Diaz, MD Resident. Taylor was the ER nurse that allowed me to cry and sat with me in my sadness. She didn’t rush me out, didn’t force me to get over it, and didn’t shame me. She met me where I was at and made space for my grief. Dr. Nazario was so kind when he read my results to me. He let me cry, knelt down beside me and felt sadness with me, and got my husband for me so I wasn’t alone. Although this was the worst night, I walked away with hope that there are dr’s and nurses out there that are not desensitized to pain, but can deeply grieve with their patients and make space for the hard conversations and feelings. If I had one more chance to see these two individuals, I would say thank you for seeing my emotions as human and not as a burden. And thank you for making room for my grief. No hospital is perfect and yes the wait times are long and yes it’s crowded, but if there’s one thing for certain, st. Agnes is committed to the wellbeing of their patients and actively/intentionally provides both empathetic and compassionate care.

I went to Saint Agnes ER last year with a terrible UTI. I can honestly say I had never felt pain like that in my life. I was so sick and couldn’t shake the pain. I don’t like going to the hospital so I avoid it at all costs. My boyfriend convinced me to bite the bullet and just go after waking up drenched in sweat and vomiting. The pain was so bad it made me vomit. The vomiting made the pain worse. I waited in the waiting room for 45 minutes to an hour before a kind nurse named Keira called me back. I’m terrified of needles and knew that she was probably going to be taking my blood so I was extremely nervous. Keira put me completely at ease. She was asking me questions about my symptoms and putting an Iv in my arm at the same time. She was fast. I didn’t even know she was done and she just smiled and said, “ quick and painless”. She is an amazing nurse. My entire visit was just that. Quick and I left without pain. Fast forward to last week. I brought my boyfriend here because of that experience. The wait was a lot longer (4-5 hours). It seemed like a lot less staff was working. But to my surprise Keira was our nurse again! Someone give this girl a day off! She remembered me from my one time visit over a year ago! She was great just like before. Friendly and calming. Saint Agnes, whoever hired this nurse, well done. My whole family will continue to come back because of her.

I used to think this was a good place to go to, not anymore. My mom waited 6 hours in the ER with pain around her knee, which would get worse each time she stood up. She was told she would need an x-ray done and an ultrasound because she might have blood clots. In those 6 hours she wasn't taken in for either. When I asked one of the nurses she was even shocked, she's was like, "she was probably put lower in the list." Also, the computer systems weren't working right, which made every nurse in there go asking someone else if they knew were patinets were at. We asked another nurse and she said it's because of priorities, my mom would still not be seen. So I told her can we leave. She said I had to tell another nurse who tells you to rate your pain right at the beginning. She completely ignored us, so I had to ask another nurse can we just leave because I saw no point of wasting my time even more. Since other priorities came first, which was made very clear each time.

I was seen on 2/10 in the ED. From the moment I arrived, security noticeably saw me struggling to walk, they immediately offered me a wheel chair, which I kindly declined as I had help and didn’t want to take away from anyone. I proceeded to check in at registration with a kind lady who also offered a wheel chair, this didn’t end there, the ED tech was also extremely kind and caring, he offered me a wheel chair as well as the triage nurse. She was so kind and caring in regards to my condition. I was quickly seen in the waiting room by Dr Beaird who was professional, compassionate, kind, caring, and actually asked what worked well for my condition in the past. This is called actually listening to your patient which healthcare can lack more times than not. He went over his treatment plan of care and what I’d be getting done and before I could even ask, assured me it wouldn’t be too long, he also offered a wheelchair again. Then another tech came out to take me to the back, she offered a wheelchair as well and when I kindly declined, she asked “just go at a slow pace?” And I said yes, thank you. We then were met with the LVN Mahlea who was so kind as well. She inserted my IV, drew blood, and moved me to my new room, she hooked me up to the monitors and gave report to my new nurse who was an RN named Kayla, she was so sweet, compassionate, and remained so caring even with other patients yelling around us. She checked on me often, offered warm blankets, and was a true advocate when reassessing my pain and learning that the first medication did not help. She administered my infusion and most of my meds. Gregory, RN came in when my infusion was complete and also asked about my pain, he also sent a message to the doctor which was so kind because I hadn’t even met him before. At shift change, my last nurse was Johnathan. He also asked again about my pain and I notified him that 2 messages were sent to the doc but he still sent an additional one to which a new med was finally ordered. He then asked me if I needed notes for school and work which I was thankful he reminded me. I also asked for a pain med for home until I got an appointment with my doctor. At first he seemed hesitant and said ED docs don’t typically give pain meds so he may just give me Tylenol. I was a bit frustrated with this so I said never mind (I had been taking Tylenol at home and couldn’t get an appointment with my physician for months) he then returned and apologized and said “the physician just told me what you were here for I’m sorry, I can’t imagine.” This truly spoke volumes to his level of empathy. I am someone who has worked in healthcare for years and I am fully aware that ED’s are often abused, so I appreciated the apology, compassion, and support he offered after.
Thank you all for helping me get back on my feet to return to my RN program and work.
