Went the Saint Francis South ER and was in severe pain. The waiting room was completely full & no privacy to verbally explain my reason for visit. The woman at the front asked what was wrong with me. I told her in my normal voice, and she rudely said she couldn’t hear me. I repeated myself as loudly as I could muster, and then she accused me of yelling at her. The other front desk person asked what was going on and was told by the lady checking me in that I was yelling at her. The new front desk person got very upset and started threatening to call security on me. I wasn’t being rude and didn’t even use any kind of rude or inappropriate language.

They don't let you give 0 stars. By far the worst ER I have ever been to. I came into the ER around 5pm, was immediately triaged and an IV line was placed and they sent me back to the lobby. I waited 6 hours in the lobby before I was called back. Except when I was called back to the ER I was sat in the hallway in a plastic chair for ANOTHER HOUR, next to another extremely ill woman and a clanging ice machine until a doctor visited me in the chair to tell me to follow up with my primary. Then I had to wait another 15 minutes for someone to take my IV out and discharge me. In the hallway. That was absolutely wild. 100% recommend the drive to glenpool over that nightmare.

At 69 years old, went to St.Francis Urgent Care in Broken Arrow(Kenosha facility) with shortness of breath issues. They sent me to St.Francis South ER.....I got triaged quickly and advised to wait and I would be called....5 hours later, taken back to a room. Sat there for another 2 hours. No doctor, no tests, offered nothing such as even a drink. Only one doctor covering the entire operation. Finally shift change brought a doctor in to see me. My wife, who takes seizure medicine, is beginning to show issues without her meds. Still told to wait. Two hours later tests done but the lone doctor wasn't available to read the results due to the crowded, understaffed system. I was finally discharged 11 hours after arrival. Meds called in was an inhaler, mucinex tablets and a bronchial steroid, two of which I already had at home.....Last time I will subject myself, or my family, to this emergency room fiasco. The only quality care I revceived was the poor ER nurse, who was worked beyond belief. She did a great job.....I wonder if a hospital administrator would subject their family member to this?

This ER is a black hole. Primary's office sent me to the ER because they couldn't get me in, and the urgent cares would not have been able to help. FOUR hours later, and a bunch of tests, and I found out they DID NOT do the one test for my problem that they said they needed to do, four hours ago. There should NOT be this long of a wait during the day when they are fully staffed. They literally just pushed pain meds in me and left the room, waiting on a test that apparently wasn't ordered. All while the nurses sit at the desk and do nothing. Stay home, you'll be better off!

A "MIGHTMARE & A BLESSING"!
NIGHTMARE:
Went to ER St. Francis Main Hospital on Monday at 10:30am. Had a bad case of throwing up & diarrhea Friday evening & Saturday morning. Pass out in bathroom! Terrible night. No energy on Saturday & Sunday. Started feeling better Sunday, but woke up Monday feeling terrible. Anyway, PC doctor said go to ER. At ER had all test taken & now know all tests were read by 2:52pm. They kept telling us they were just waiting for the doctor to consult with us. However, at 8:30 pm said enough was enough(10 hours). Told them I wanted IV taken out I was leaving. All of a sudden I was in with a doctor. I have pneumonia on my left lung. It's not as serious since I "don't have asthma "! I think the doc and I came to a "come to Jesus meeting" right then. I said, "what is your name again? I have had asthma for years! You have not even read my chart!!! You ask me why I was worried about heart? I had a major heart attack in July!!! He said, "no I don't see you had a heart attack". I said, "what the hell are you talking about! Are you looking at my chart? I was enraged! He started back peddling apologizing. Then said, "oh my you had a widowmaker heart attack!" I was like look I have some major concerns on the capabilities of this ER. He just kept apologizing and how overwhelmed they were. I sympathize but not when it comes to my health! He was apologizing again and said we will get you on a strong antibiotic and get you dismissed.
NOW THE BLESSING:
We saw so many people in the waiting room serving others with their needs. It was heart warming to see strangers reaching out to others . Jay and a young man assisted an older man who was constantly throwing up. Could barely walk. We formed a group of about 5 patients, who all came in around 10:30. We all decided to walk out at 8:30 pm; we all where being seen by doctors (screened in areas by each other); we all were saying ER reunion May 1st, 2024; we were all not shy about laughing at the crazy disorganized ER; actually the staff of nurses were laughing with us and understood our frustration. They said, "we have a group here"!
So I would not recommend ER St. Francis main hospital walk in. Terrible walk in care. You know I raved about Heart Hospital, Rehab; and volunteered for years at St. Francis. Give all three a 5 star rating, but ER is terrible!!!!!

My wife took a fall and went to the ER. Arrived at 11:00 pm. 45 minutes later, she was taken in for x-rays. Back to the waiting area. 2 hours later, she was finally brought into an exam room. An hour goes by and NO ONE checks in on her. No nurse. No doctor. Keep in mind, she is in pain. She had enough and left. As she was leaving, she saw the nurses and other staff behind the counter visiting, chatting and laughing with each other.
We called a few hours later to see if they had any information on her condition. We were told to check "My Chart." No one could be bothered to check for us. Also, we were told that there was no doctor on duty that night. Only a NP who had 20 other patients. Sounds like great management there! Right? Well, her My Chart showed that her x-rays were read at 12:15 am by the NP. The chart showed that she had 2 broken ribs but, fortunately, no damage or issues to her vital areas and no fluid present. Okay. But now it's Saturday morning on the 4th of July weekend and she is in pain. Couldn't sleep. We certainly weren't going back to the ER and deal with their incompetence. All we could do was keep her as comfortable as possible until Tuesday morning. Which we did and we got into the Ortho Urgent Care at the Citiplex towers where we received great service!
Never again St. Francis ER. I wish I would have read the reviews here before deciding to go there. Had I done so, I would have chosen St. John's BA instead.

Took 84 yr old mother-in-law in at 5pm for severe stomach pains and she was there for almost 9 hrs. They gave her 3 tests and didn't let us know results for over 3 hrs after last test. Never offered her food or water. No Dr is too busy to stop for 3 minutes for an update. This place is a joke and I'd give them a negative 5 star if I could.

Worst help/services I have experienced from an E.R. I waited in the lobby for over an hour before I got a room there was only 1 person ahead of me, Finally got a room and a male nurse stated the Dr would be in shortly as they were getting caught up from the holidays, I said okay no problem, I waited for over 2 hours in a room without any nurse to check up on me I finally decided to get up and go to the nurses station and found all of the nurses gathered around chit chatting and laughing. I had to tell them I was not feeling well and needed to see a Dr. 10minutes later the Doctor comes in for literally 3minutes and without running any tests, labs, exams of any kind and sends me home with antibiotics. The following day my condition is worsening and now decided to head to a different hospital. Extremely terrible service but very quick to charge that bill!!! Oh yes and have insurance or they will let you die very true I didn’t have my insurance card with me forgot when I rushed out to get to an ER which I’m sure this was part of why I experienced what I did.
