Baptist Children’s Hospital your emergency room department is despicable! My daughter was in room 8 and to use the word disgusting to describe the room would be a compliment. The room was outright filthy. Horrible smell. Those of you who’ve worked in a nursing home think of the smell of the dirty linen, that’s the exact smell. The floor was nasty, sticky, trash under the bed, old medical supplies on the floor, dirt/dust all along the floor. Soiled linen bag completely full. Sink was filthy (dust, hair, stained). Hand sanitizer dispenser dirty. Old medical supplies left behind on top of the trash can. Red splatter on the clock, looked like blood to me. Light, ceiling and medical equipment dusty! I walked out smelling like I was the one working a shift. Spent 5+ hours there which is understandable with the limited staff and packed waiting room. All of the staff were very nice and pleasant!

The guy nurse from triage was the sweetest with all the children. However I’m extremely upset. I took my 3 month old over there Wednesday night because he was sick and I honestly just wanted to makes sure it wasn’t RSV. They tested him for flu and RSV but said “we haven’t seen a covid case in months” so they didn’t test him for covid which I didn’t like. My granny is the one who watches him, she turned up + for covid Friday afternoon and now leaving his pediatrician he’s also + for covid and so am I. I’m a teacher so I’m sure I’m the one that brought it home but they could’ve atleast taken the extra step to get to the bottom of things because if you just stop testing for something then of course you’re not gonna see the cases all in all not a great experience. Not to mention us being there for 5 hours.

It would have been nice if the nurses would have atleast had the common courtesy to say hello and not just lead where they want us to go. Also, a better interaction with my 4 yo. Would have been great. I mean if he's asking you what a drug is for, stop and be happy to explain it on his level without me starting to tell him. It's no different than respecting an adult.

Omgggggg I love this place the nurses , registration, doctors are sooooooooooooo nice. They’re very kind, friendly, caring, the whole staff just makes me love on them. They treat you like family and you can’t tell what they days be like because the face expression never changes. They got to the bottom of what was wrong with my baby and prescribed the medicine she needed. They had to give her freezer pops, and drinks to make her use the bathroom before we left. They didn’t discriminate or anything
.. thank God for people like them.

Service: from reception to discharge, everyone be was so nice and professional.

Medical Care: The triage nurse immediately recognized the issue, the Nurse Practitioner and Medical Doctor collaborated and determined best course of treatment. The nurses were terrific in attending to needs and doing distraction during IV/lab draws. We were fortunate and were able to go home on meds vs have a hospital stay and she improved the next day.

Wait times: we did have to wait a while to be triaged and then to be seen. But that is what triage is for. There were people with more critical and life threatening issues, and then people who were the same priority level who had been there longer. We were seen in the appropriate order and in a reasonable amount of time.

Facilities: waiting room and lobby was clean and comfortable. Beautiful fish tank, child appropriate television, video game machine, restrooms. Patient rooms were quiet and comfortable.

This has became my favorite emergency room when it comes to my children. I was here in may with my then 2 month old and they were so sweet kind and gentle with him and just last week with my 7 year old with an ear infection. He was crying hysterically and they calmed him down and made him feel safe and secure. They listed to me and him and they have the fastest service ever. Everyone from the front desk to the back are always smiling and greeting and welcoming. Trust me if you’re ever concerned about anything dealing with your child and it’s an emergency go to this hospital. There has never been a wait .the. You get the sweetest check up call from a older lady and she calls just to check on your child and you feel as if you know her.

All of the staff was very kind and had a positive attitude when working with my child. Once we got back to our room I feel like the staff was very on top of things and got results and treatment started quickly. I would definitely not hesitate to come back.

The admin and nursing staff were wonderful. They were understanding of our child’s sickness and truly wanted him to get better. My only complaint was with the doctor Yaser Alsaek, Yes we came in three different time but before each time I called the nurse and she told us to bring our son back in. He made my wife and I feel like a burden and we did not appreciate that.
