I've been to this A&E 3 times, and it's the best I've been to. First of all, the nurses check happens at the reception so you don't have to wait long hours for a nurse for the initial checkup. Secondly, the doctors and staff were compassionate, caring and helpful during those visits. Waiting time depends but the staff really does a fantastic job to manage the waiting hours.

The staff I encountered here were friendly, professional and worked fast. Walked in and received an inspection and an x-ray. Pretty great that such a helpful service is accessible 24 hrs a day.

The week before Christmas I had chest pains. Went to A&E it was very busy. I was triaged within 20 Mins and taken to a clinic connected to A&E. Had all my tests and sent home within 3 hours. The staff were wonderful and so efficient and kind. Very grateful for the NHS x

I’ve visited the A&E with my unwell child, a distressing situation for any parent. While the initial triage process was prompt, the subsequent experience was deeply disappointing. Despite the A&E being notably quiet, with only six families waiting, we were left for approximately four hours without any updates or information regarding our situation.
It was particularly concerning that no patients appeared to be called in during this time, creating the impression that no doctors were available. When I inquired about the delay, I was simply told to continue waiting, with no further clarification or reassurance.

No short of abusive and aggressive reception woman who was not trained in the NHS Equality of access public sector duty regarding those with additional communication needs. I am nuero divergent which means verbal communication is not accessible to my ND cognitive executive processing. I asked for a reasonable adjustment of a staff member who could write down the questions and show me what they mean in a list, so I could follow along as I can’t process a faceless person with a mask on lecturing me regarding her rights to wear a mask instead of deescalating the emergency situation - as she was pregnant - fine - but deal with that off line - so was angry she had to work and hence unhelpful. She shamed me by calling loudly over to her colleague who in turn still carried on in the exactly the same way. Really distressing for me as the GP ordered me to go to A and E. I did not want to go as i am traumatised by the lack of understanding by these new breed of aggressive staff abusing nuero divergent patients. I asked them to find me a person who could write the questions down and could speak to me in a civilised non intimidating and non hostile manner. I also said if patients like me are seen as a nuisance you deny the most vulnerable their rights to emergency healthcare. Then we don’t come until we are in a life death situation. I went there 12 years ago reluctantly as I had what I thought was a back spasm that got so bad I could not move. It was a massive pulmonary embolism on both lungs. I didn’t want to go then. I was in hospital for 3 weeks. They discharged me that time into the street and I spent 3 days in the cafe with nowhere to go. Callous and negligent nhs practices. That could have been avoided. My GP was angry with me for delaying this time. But it is the way the staff on reception make me feel like a malingerer and time waster. I have a genetic blood clot disorder. I am not in blood thinners and have a higher risk than most. If I was a man I would be on thinners as men would be taken seriously - and demand they are attended to. It got worse. I had dislodged my knee cap. They send me home. Then some person rings me up and says you can’t be seen in fractures for the follow up go somewhere else with no indication of where and how. My Gp does nothing when I tell them via the digital app. I am not a worthless patient just because I am an older woman who injured my knee on my bike. I paid 34 years into the NHS. I never use it. I take no pills and I pay my own physiotherapy as their services injure me further as they have no idea how to treat my joints. I could not get downstairs for 4 days. I will never go back to this hospital. Worst emergency experience ever. I raised a complaint, as I don’t have another choice but to go to A and E if there is a suspected blood clot around my knee and groin. The GP made me go twice - waited 7 hours to be insulted and then told to go elsewhere. A disgrace.

I was there yesterday at noon due to allergy reaccion and side effects such as severe dizziness and headaches since they injected me with contrast medicines to perform an MRI. The person at the front desk did not help me, seeing that I was dizzy, he had me there arguing about totally anti-medical arguments such as that blood tests never tell anything. I can not believe how such unsupportive and unprofessional people give their opinion on who needs an urgent investigation and treated, I have never seen this in other hospitals. That person cannot represent an A+E of the NHS.

Excellent service. Right from entry to seeing the Doctor. Attentive, inquisitive and thoroughly professional. I can not praise the staff highly enough. Healthcare as it should be. Proud of this particular hospital and it's amazing staff.

Got seen after 13.5 hours so spent 17-18 hours in a&e total. the first time with a head injury and they also missed many things from the incident that I was in.
I had to beg them for another scan for a year before getting seen again, and nothing came of that either the doctor just made some notes.

2 and a half years later I'm still dealing with these issues and now they've given me medication that has made me sick from the side effects.
