I was in the ER this pass Sat approximately 12am to 1am and I witnessed a nurse spray a homeless person with what I'm assuming was disinfect spray. She thought it was funny and so did many of her co-workers. I thought it was inhumane. Homeless people are people too. Regardless of their situation. How can a person like a nurse who's job is to care for people be so heartless.Where was the compassion and empathy. It is so sad that these are people we have caring for others. I would never come to this hospital again.

I recently got into an auto accident and got sent to Jefferson Emergency Hospital with the EMT team, they were so polite and put my mind at ease and also the staff and doctors at Jefferson were super nice. They provided warm blankets for me, moved quickly and diligently. My eye was in such pain when I arrived and when I left the hospital it felt so much better and healed. Thank you to all the staff

They sent me for a series of test before I had a chance to even talk to a doctor. I understand routine vitals, blood work and even ekg because I came in with a high bp, and numbness in my left arm. I also discovered that I had Covid while there. 5 hours later I had not spoken to a doctor yet but was sent for a CT scan with no context. When I inquired as to why a CT was ordered I was told “that’s just what we do.” That’s unacceptable..

I took my mother to the ER last night because she wasn't feeling well. As we approached the front entrance, we noticed three security guards sitting down. There were several people in waiting room and the service was slow. The minute we went inside, the women security guards weren't friendly. My mother said she needed to be seen and we were instructed to place our things into the basket. I walked through the metal detector and mom had to be wanded. My mother told one of the security guards that her tablet was inside of her backpack and she replied it would be okay going through the scanner to be checked. When our belongings came out of the conveyor belt, the same guard knocked our things from the basket and onto the floor. My mother's backpack as well as my ID and a few things of mine fell out of my bag and the guard never apologized. She just stood there leaning on the desk staring at us. When she did speak, her tone was as nasty as her attitude. She showed no concern that she might have broken my mother's tablet.

My mother and I were so turned off by the poor customer service, we decided to go to Pennsylvania Hospital instead. The treatment here has been night and day, compared to Jefferson. The staff here have been both professional and caring.

Jefferson Hospital's customer service is the worst and my mom even has their health insurance, that was the main reason why we went to Jefferson hospital in the first place. Never again!!! My mother deserves to be treated with dignity and respect and the way she was treated last night was totally unacceptable.

Had my son delivered here via caesarian. Almost killed my son due to neglect and refusal to provide formula. Terrible pain management for my wife - had to tell the entire procedure to every shift, and keep track of all the timers because they wouldn't. At one point the room went up to 89 degrees, and they did not fix it for over a day, nor did they move us, causing my son to dehydrate and was still denied formula even after he was no longer peeing and was becoming increasingly lethargic. Eventually, they just turned off all heat to the room. Tried to administer medications to my wife she is allergic to & was in her file. We indicated that we wanted to combo feed the newborn, they tried to get us to do breastfeeding only, did not give us formula or proper feeding bottles. My son got terribly dehydrated and lost well over the safe amount of weight during the hospital stay. Prenatal care also labeled is a high risk case, and then did not schedule any appointment with actual doctors for a month and a half near the end of the pregnancy regardless of requesting it repeatedly. They blamed her in her chart for not seeking care.

I am extremely disappointed with the care my wife and I received at Jefferen Hospital. My wife, who is pregnant and was bleeding, was made to wait for hours before being seen in the emergency room. To make matters worse, instead of prioritizing her urgent medical needs, we were questioned about payment before any treatment was even provided. This is unacceptable for an emergency situation.

When she was finally seen, the nurse who drew her blood appeared inexperienced and unsure, poking around for the vein and asking another nurse for guidance. A pregnant woman in distress is not the patient to practice on—patients deserve skilled and competent care.

Adding to the frustration, the person at the front desk was rude and dismissive to every patient who asked a question. His unprofessional attitude included shouting at people to turn down their phones in a way that was unnecessarily aggressive. This behavior is inexcusable, especially in a setting where patients are already feeling vulnerable and unwell.

To make matters worse, the facility itself was in terrible condition. The entire place smelled like urine, and the floors were filthy, which only added to the feeling of neglect and lack of care. This is far from the environment you’d expect at a hospital, let alone one that handles emergencies.

The overall experience was disorganized, uncaring, and stressful. Jefferen Hospital seriously needs to improve its cleanliness, staff training, patient prioritization, and overall professionalism to provide the level of care people expect in emergencies.

I was sent to this ER after the Jefferson urgent care didn't have an ultrasound to check for appendicitis. I waited over 3 hours in the waiting room with abdominal pain while patients with non life threatening issue were repeatedly called back before me (for example someone with a wrist injury needing an xray was called back and had been there only an hour while I was on hour 3 with a potentially life threatening concern). I had to pressure them to give me a room. The first time I asked she said sit down and she'd get back to me. She never did. So I went up again and she said "oh I forgot about you". I was promptly given a room after that as I refused to leave check in. Once in my room care improved. I had a doctor and his resident who were communicative, friendly, concerned and quick. I had a scan done and the doc and resident both checked in several times. NOW HERE IS THE PROBLEM: My original doctor ordered a couple more tests before his shift ended. I waited 2 hours and no one came. I had to ask a nurse for a pee cup myself. That test was never run. A woman in the seating waiting area needed an ultrasound. She got it within an hour or two. I overhear a doctor (i later learn this was my new shift doctor who I never once seen by even 4 HOURS into his shift) tell a nurse she doesn't have to do the next ultrasound since her shift ends in 15mins. Was that supposed to be mine? After waiting two hours I asked a nurse. She said it's common to wait a couple hours. OK. I waited another hour. Asked a different nurse. She checked the order was in, it was. She had an attitude despite me being vwry polite. Short dark long haired woman. I wait another hour. Nothing. The ultrasound machine has been sitting in the hall in front of my room unused since the other woman had hers, 3 hours ago. The woman that did her ultrasound has been standing around chatting in the hall and helping another nurse get an ice pack for her face. Machine and nurse are both available. I'm still waiting. I've been at the hospital since 4pm. It's 2am. I tell a nurse I want to leave. She puts a note for my doctor. I wait 30 mins. He never comes. The port in my arm hurts. I haven't eaten in over 24 hours for imaging. I haven't had water in 12 hours for imaging. I am alone. The nurses keep blowing me off, im being very kind and patient. The doctor i later learn is my doctor had been standing around most of this time. Idk his name at first because he never checked in. I saw it on my chart later which is how I knew it was him. A young Asian guy, Xie something. I eventually have to demand the nurse to remove my port so I can leave. My phone is dead. I asked several times to borrow a charger so I could at least get a ride home. No one ever brings me one. You know a nurse had one. They have an emergency room use cell phone. There has to be one. I explain I will be stranded with no way home. No one cares. I leave after 10 hours. ALONE. AT 230AM. NO PHONE. NO WAY TO CALL A RIDE. IN 30 DEGREES. NO ANSWERS, only more questions and concerns.

I obviously slipped through the cracks and seeing as I was experiencing, still am experiencing, abdominal pain and the scan results showed concerning information, no one helped me. A huge waste of my time and money. Horrible disorganization. Rude nurses.

Unfortunately, I had some health challenges that landed me in the ER, but fortunately Jefferson has the most kind, compassionate, And capable staff In the whole area. Thank you for your professionalism, kindness And compassion I am in awe Of what you guys do🙏🏾
