It was extremely apparent from the moment we walked into the ER that the staff were inattentive, uncaring and annoyed at the prospect of doing their job. The entire visit was full of the least caring people in medicine I have met in a while. Should have risked it and gone to MCR, at least they act like they care and do a thorough job. No wonder this hospital has such a bad reputation in town.

*Update*- after going to my primary care doctor after this ER visit, it was proven I have a major medical issue that is now lifelong. The ER doctor could have found it with proper testing. There wasn’t even an exam given. This new diagnosis can be life threatening, especially with the symptoms I went into the ER with. I talked to the patient representative ONCE and there has not been an apology, a follow up call, or anyone explaining why they are ok with their standard of care being negligence boarding on malpractice. If you can avoid this hospital, please do. I say that as someone with 15 years experience in emergency medicine. I take it very seriously when a staff is so obviously jaded and uncaring they refuse to do even a simple exam and turn people out with advice that could kill you. Hint: Imodium is contraindicated for anyone who has bleeding of any kind from their bowels, especially if it is only blood (a lot of it) you are seeing.

Friendly & thorough care from most everyone working there. Prompt service (at least it is from 10:30 pm to about 4:00 am!) and ability to get me into the CT scan & ultrasound testing I needed.

Even the ER “rooms” were nice and fairly private. The facility seemed quite clean. The gentlemen at check-in helped keep me calm & distracted from my pain by engaging in some light conversation with me- which helped!

We were visiting from out of state when my husband had a medical emergency. The hospital and staff were excellent! Drs, nurses, and the rest of the staff were attentive and answered all of our questions and concerns. We can’t thank everyone enough. Having an excellent level of care during a scary time made all of the difference for our family.

2 stars, because most people working here, the end of the line, are super nice, and hard workers. But in this beautiful 1st world country, in 2024, still allow plain daylight scams called "Health insurance"
Here is the story: My mother in law came to visit, came here, to get help with her back, she was in a lot of pain (she had surgery couple years ago), doctors and nurses super nice. The problem is that she used travel insurance, with a local insurance, we fill up tons of papers. just to later nobody knows anything. Then we call, then they say you need to call this other number and ask for a FORM, yes, 2024, BY PHONE, "they dont have email" they told us.
So 1 hour visit to the ER, converts to, so far, 10 hours on calls and filling forms, and sending emails to get NOWHERE.
We filled forms at this place, they took pictures of IDs and papers. Later we receive a BILL, we called "hey we have insurance, you took pictures" and get a reply "We dong have anything on system"

All the billing and money greed around this place, sucking from human needs.

Please avoid this emergency room at all costs and instead go to a 24/7 urgent care if possible. This UC Health didn’t show much care or support and charged me well over $3,000 for an IV bag and an hour of “care.” The ER visit consisted of me sitting by my self in a room with no doctors or nurses and when they finally came in, they gave me a medication I didn’t need which in turn gave me an allergic reaction. This was by far the worst hospital experience I’ve ever had and I’ve undergone multiple surgeries when I was awake. I no longer trust the American health care system and will be looking for natural options from here on out. Thanks for nothing.

I am about to write the patient representatives about my experience yesterday. First. They were testing alarms that went on for hours and hour and hours. Second. I was placed in a hallways with other people. The alarms alone are intolerable for any patient there who was sick and in pain. With bright fluorescent lights that cause migraine. I have sensory issues and the combo of all this combined with hours of waiting made me sicker than when I came in. The nurse was absolutely outstanding and the conditions she was working in were horrendous. After waiting many hours I got one test. Then I just couldn’t take the noise of the alarms and the lights anymore and I had to leave. The doctors note said it was against medical advice when they didn’t even talk to me. The building was inaccessible related to my sensory issues and it should not say it was against medical advice when I literally couldn’t medically stay there due to the situation with the alarms and the lights. I am left not knowing any next steps for my abdominal pain. I have had bad experiences here but this was by far the worst.

The entire ER staff was friendly, attentive, and professional. they listened to me without judgement or obvious preconceived notions and asked great questions to understand the care required. They treated me in a timely fashion and seemed to genuinely care about my wellbeing.
