The absolute worst ER. Honestly I cannot fathom why they are labeled an “Emergency” room. They are far from it. Their priorities are not in order. They are extremely disorganized. We were placed in a room where there was trash from a previous patient. My mom went in for a potential appendicitis and they did not treat it as an emergency. Waited over 8 hours to be seen. Once in a room another 2 hours for a doctor. This is insane. I cannot believe that this is how they operate. They charge a co pay for what? No doctor comes in. They take their sweet time to see a patient in excruciating pain and potentially serious issue. All they want is to collect money by keeping you here. I told them multiple times that my mom was in pain and they did not seem to care. It is absolute absurdity. I do not recommend this hospital by any means. Go elsewhere and then maybe you’ll get some help.
A patient next to my mom was screaming literally screaming and they barely attended to him. They let him scream. What kind of hospital is this.
Help your patients. Do better.

I wanted to take a moment to thank the staff at Los Alamitos Emergency. The team there is incredibly kind and compassionate, and I’ve always felt cared for and welcomed. I was diagnosed with major depressive disorder a few years ago, and during my first suicide attempt, I was brought to Los Alamitos. I wish I could thank the nurse from back then—I truly appreciated the care he provided. I was given resources that helped me live a healthier life for several years.

Recently, I relapsed and experienced suicidal thoughts again. My mother took me back to Los Alamitos because she was concerned about my condition. This time, Nurse Ingrid took care of me, and her kindness made all the difference. She made sure I was comfortable during my entire stay, and that sense of safety and care played a huge part in my recovery.

Los Alamitos has been there for me twice during critical times, and I have nothing but deep appreciation for the staff. Thanks to their help, I am once again doing much better and continuing with my treatment. Thank you so much!

Absolutely horribly ran ER since UCI took over. Once UCI took over, all they care about is pumping people thru to max out medicare. They don't care about patient care nor patients getting better. Prior to UCI, this was a wonderful ER ran by wonderful people. Now it's a bunch of people that don't care and only show compassion when you threaten to call the state. They don't care if you leave because they get paid when you leave ama anyway. Pls go elsewhere. This place is where you go to suffer amd genotype get better.

Got hit hard with a UTI and in serious pain. It was too late to go to urgent care and I couldn't make it through the night. Got there at 8:15pm. Sat in waiting room in serious pain until they finally gave me a pain shot at 11:30pm. Gave me a prescription at midnight. Pitiful.

The absolute worse ER you can go to. I went in for a horrible GERD symptoms that I had for 5 days and with a mirage that wouldn’t go away. I was in so much pain and I never saw a doctor. I was in the waiting room for 6 hours. And they would pull me for lab work and throw me back in the waiting room. I got billed $3,600 for literally a joke of an ER. Never once did I see a doctor or stay in a bed. For the bill to be so extreme.
Stay away from this place! Go to Garden Grove hospital or St. Joseph’s or an urgent care.
This should be closed !

6hrs waiting until I decided to check myself out. Was referred to an ER from an urgent care. It wasn't as busy, but my emergency wasn't as urgent as others. Was seen by triage maybe an hour later, was given TYLENOL 1hr later, they forgot about me for the next 4hrs until I decided to ask how likely it was for me to be seen or be given something else than Tylenol. The doctor in charge started being rude saying there were other emergencies before mine, and that they kept coming so unlikely to be seen soon. Had to go as pain was being unbearable and ER just got busier. If you are brought to the ER on an ambulance it seems there's a higher chance to be seen, if walking in pain for something other than a stroke or heart attack, be prepared to wait, but I suggest going somewhere else. High concentration of elderly.

The ER staff treated us like we were a nuisance. My sister passed out from pain after 3 hours in the waiting room. When I asked for help, I was told I needed to talk to the triage nurse who was busy. Once she had the time to look up at me, she told me she couldn't do anything, that she requested pain meds but there's people in front of her so she has to wait.

I wish I could give 0 stars. My 8 year old daughter sliced her foot open at the beach, and we were advised to bring her to the ER. I chose this location due to how close it was. Never again. We waited almost 6 hours and it seemed like they forgot about us. We were put in a very small room that seemed to be a pathway to enter and exit the ER beds, so people were constantly walking through. Then there were other patients being seen in that same room, forced to explain their symptoms in front of my daughter and myself. It was 10 pm, and we were simply waiting for durmabond, and it took forever. The rooms were dirty (trash on the counter, medicine bottles left out on a tray from former patients). We finally had a sweet nurse who I practically begged to get a doctor for us. My daughter was crying and just wanted to go home after 5 hours of waiting (almost 2 with a numbing cream on her foot). If it weren't for him, we would probably still be there. The staff in front checking in were really rude. I'll never return, and will advise everyone I know to avoid as well.
