Where is a detox unit in the Valley?

My dad came here for ‘Gout’ on vacation. Literally, a waiter stubbed his toe, enraged with too much uric acid from meat and potatoes or alcohol.

This has to be the best emergency room in the country. It was my first time being admitted in the ER, and it could have not been more pleasant, which is not an adjective I EVER thought I’d use to describe an ER experience. Long story short I had my first seizure this morning, and came in very emotional and afraid. Every single person I encountered was beyond kind, helpful, and encouraging. Felt like we were friends. Not to mention I was admitted immediately with a private room. I have heard countless horror stories of crowded ERs, waiting rooms, being treated in the hallway due to lack of space, etc. So I just could not be more grateful for the ER team at Vail Health. Thank you everyone who helped me, I’ll never forget you.

I can’t believe I’m actually writing a review for an emergency room. I had an unexpected day spent here and was really impressed by the entire staff and system. I was immediately admitted, seen, had a multiple of tests run, and given a somewhat bad news diagnosis, all in the most professional and caring environment I’ve ever encountered.

It’s hard to receive bad news, but when the environment creates a positive experience, it just makes it all easier.

Thank you to the entire staff, admissions, emt, nurses, doctors, rad techs, billing, and shuttle driver!

I can’t say enough about the positive experience I had in the Vail Health ER today. The professionalism, timely care, and most importantly genuine compassion made it a memorable day for me. My back pain had me down and out this morning to the point I was discouraged on a different level. Sad I was! Everyone who cared for me from Carl in valet to Dr. Braunholtz were some of the kindest people I’ve encountered in a hospital. As far as medical treatment, I received immediate pain relief from Dr. Braunholtz, a very patient MRI tech, and a care plan moving forward that I’m absolutely confident and comfortable with. I’m grateful for the entire Vail Health ER team. Thank you!

A warning to anyone who comes here for treatment:

I received a head injury and was taken to the emergency room at this hospital. The treatment team recommended a CT scan, however, they refused to disclose the cost it would be when I asked prior. Afterwards, I received a bill for almost $7,000 dollars. This amount was for a CT scan, no medication, and a very limited neurologic physical exam performed in 1 minute by a disinterested provider. The hospital was unwilling to negotiate the cost despite the fact I have no income and am a student.

This is an exorbitant cost compared to other hospitals in the country, and the treatment I received was mediocre and borderline negligent compared to the current standard of care. If possible, avoid this hospital and seek treatment elsewhere.

I have been here at ER 2 times this month and I can tell the doctor and the nurses are great, I was feeling safe and matter. I just don’t know the last name of George IMT because he was great, taking care of me every 15 minutes asking if I need something. Thank u so much George!
