I came here yesterday for some pain I was having and wanted to get it checked out. I got attended quickly & the process of the bloodwork and the imaging test was quick too. Just to get my results it took a while but I still appreciate the nurse and doctor I had yesterday! Everybody has their own experiences and mine is good.

The hospital is amazing, but the ER is awful. Waited 5 hours for severe abdominal pain after surgery only for them to finally come get me to administer pain meds. Then I over heard a nurse state he lost a patient (couldn’t remember what room he put her in). No thanks. I’ll go home and take Motrin. They weren’t touching me after that. I can honestly say they need to be investigated for neglect. I was scared I would get worse if I stayed.

Methodist willowbrook is by far one of the most busiest hospitals in the area. So if you’re not actively dying expect to wait

When you see a patient vomiting in ER, CRIPPLED over in PAIN. Then a nurse 3 times walk by and threatened to kick him out to point of getting security. Then when you address issue for that person she gaslights saying we "misheard" . Awful Emergency Room, don't come here if you want to actually get CARE.

Surprisingly, TOP-NOTCH CARE! ...

I doubt anyone likes visiting hospitals, and this goes double for emergency rooms. The crowds, the wait times, stressed or overworked staff, etc. It's no picnic! And yet, this last visit for me was altogether, if not pleasant, at least surprisingly well-managed and made pretty stress-free and comfortable by the majority of the staff. Alex(ander?) at the reception desk was curt, verging on short and rude, upon checking me in. He was pretty much the only downer with quips he must have thought edgy, but which were actually the mark of someone who definitely needs not to work in direct contact with the public. The Triage nurse, however (sadly, I did not catch her name) was sweet and as caring as an ER Triage Nurse with people waiting, could be. The star of the show, however, was my ER doctor "A. Mirab", whose bedside manner; engagement; ability to provide straightforward answers (and not look bored while doing so); and prowess with a needle and other hospital implements, was fantastic. "Kara", my discharge nurse was also great! She seemed to care, was soothing and funny, and accomplished the best bandaging job I have yet to see! Together, they garner TEN-out-of-ten, big, fat, juicy stars!

I went to Willowbrook Methodist Willowbrook ER because I was having sudden extreme pain on Saturday, and my blood pressure shot up dangerously high. I was in the waiting room for 4 hours and never got into a room or saw the doctor. No one took my medical history. But the police had criminals in handcuffs and they were taken in right away and given treatment. I saw them leaving cleaned up and smiling, feeling all better. But the front desk kept telling me that I had to wait longer. I eventually just went home without any diagnosis or treatment, because I’d rather suffer in bed than in a waiting room.

Also as soon as you get there, they tell you that they are going to draw your blood. But what they actually do is put an IV in your arm, and then they leave it loose and send you to the waiting room. I closed my eyes so I didn’t know they were putting in an IV. I thought it was just drawing blood to test. In the waiting room, everyone was there with IVs hanging out of their arms. I can’t imagine that is hygienic or safe. They didn’t call anyone to go to the patient rooms because, as they told us much later, they didn’t have any beds. I saw people leaving with the IV still in their arm. After 4 hours of being miserable, and no other solution in sight, I wanted to go home, so I asked them to remove my IV. They rudely argued and put up a fight because they didn’t want to remove it and were refusing to do so, but I stood there and refused to get out of their way until they removed it.

I’m staying away from Methodist Willowbrook from now on, and recommend others do as well.

I’m not the one to write bad reviews, but when it comes to humans health , I will , just to make sure everyone gets the treatment they deserve . I would like to start off that I understand what understaffing is and being under construction. But the treatment that was provided was absolutely horrible . Brought my father in who had open heart surgery 2 months ago for pain that he was feeling . Got here at 3 AM and was in the waiting room until 12:00 because they were “monitoring “him . 12:00 came around and they decided it was time for him to get transferred into a hallway bed with other patients that had absolutely none of the same conditions. They claimed he went through several test that he did not go through . Nurses kept saying different things and we left with unanswered questions . Understaffing is understandable but this is unacceptable.

Whoever was staffing the ER phone tonight 1/18/24 around 9:30PM needs to be either intensively coached or just straight fired. I have never experienced such negligent behavior as this.
My mother was being held at this ER awaiting a psych evaluation for possible transfer to another hospital. I called to check in on her status. My first attempt was at 9:20PM. A woman answered, I asked her for an update on my mother, and she said to give her a moment then put me on hold. I waited on hold for fifteen minutes, during which she didn’t bother checking in even once. I finally gave up holding and called back again. The call went unanswered and I was routed to the operator. I explained to the operator I’m trying to get a status update on my mother from the ER. The operator transferred me back to the same woman, who answered and said “give me a moment” And put me back on hold without even allowing me to speak. About a minute later, she picked up again and, without saying a word, HUNG UP on me. I sat there in shock for several moments.
I finally had my husband call to see if he had any better luck. His call also went unanswered and was routed to the operator, who transferred us back again to the ER. FINALLY, the same woman answers and we are able to “convince” her to give us the time of day to simply answer our question. By “convince” I mean mentioning that we have called several times and simply need a quick status update.

This whole process took 5 different phone calls and 40 MINUTES to find out if my mother was being transferred. Seriously. All because that one woman chose to be grossly negligent. After having to speak with the operator several times and explaining what was happening, even the operator was shocked and confused as to why this woman refused to actually help us. So beware, if you have a loved one at this ER, you might need to set aside a whole afternoon if you want the ER staff to actually speak to you.
